Your Favourite Places In SWG!

For me personally i just used to love hanging out on Tatooine. I don't care what anyone else says. That planet is Star Wars for me. I know it's barren, and hot but it evokes the thought it's such a cool place to be. My favourite places on Tatooine were Anchorhead, and Bestine. I liked to just go and hang around in the cantina's which always used to be busy. The chatter between players used to be very interesting, and it really felt amazing to imagine you were actually stood in a bar, on a distant planet with all the familar aliens you see out of the first 3 movies.

In tattooine, if you go out on the desert at night (towards Jabba's palace) and stared up into the stars, you could see two big imperial star destroyers orbitting the planet. It was awesome to just sit there with friends, pull out a camp and talk while the big behemoths orbitted the planet.

I was always partial to Anchorhead and Jabas Palace.

I loved Jabba's palace! But again, seeing those2 imperial star destroyers up above was pretty sweet too. I mean you know it was just a small thing that was just eye candy and nothing else, but it just embellished the scenery so much, making it more believable that you were in the SW universe. It was a shame they they never actually landed on tattooine, that would've been sweet to see these giant behemoths landing.

My home planet in SWG was Lok, loved the music it had also. Tat was cool but I think may favourite was endor. Mastered Commando there, before I even had a clue what a buff was.

But then had a home also on corellia, got full stormtrooper armour grinding imp faction alone doing missions. Thought I was the dogs bollocks, pity Stormie armour had crud stats, was cool to walk around in though with my 2 dark troopers or AT-ST. So good memories of that planet.

All could nearly be classed as my favourite but was never a fan of Dant and Dath was just too scary.

Hmmm, back in pre-cu days we used to raid the imperial outpost at the top of the hill/mountian/whatever at bestine. One day after we were resting for a moment and waiting for others to clone i looked down and noticed for the first time how awesome the view was... there before me was the entire city of bestine. That moment made me feel as if i was an ant looking down from a mountian towards a city. It was great.

Its funny, but I think during the 3 years I played SWG I rarely left Tatooine.  There was just something about it that kept me playing on it.  :)

Kadaara on Naboo... first town I ever laid my eyes upon and experienced.. was my home for ages - until me and two friends built the city of Aexon Beach.. then that was my favourite place... but it's gone now... all gone... *sobs in a corner*

Lok ....the music was great there .... everytime that part from "Birth of the twins" was played, it sent shivers down my spine

Kaadara Bay, along the North Coast on Naboo.  Used to have my house right on the beach.  Beautiful sunsets.  And close to work.

Just for fun, I scouted a navigable waterway from the central lakes all the way to the North Coast.  I'm the Lewis and Clark of SWG.

I loved to watch the sun come up over the eastern Corellian sea, from along the ridgeline just south of Doaba Guerfel.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Lok And dath were sweet but i found home at southwest Talus near the pvp battleground. In fact i showed my guild/clan the spot to build on. And that was where our city was.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun. Wish I could've joined in.

Oh yeah. The first time I heard that tune I was stunned. That tune fitted Lok very well, especially back in the old game when Lok was a very dangerous place. Even late in the game, up to the point of my last login, I would often stop everything I was doing at the moment just to listen to the tune and watch the sunset/sunrise.

Favourite socialising place: inside the FoE Imperial fort at Bastion City on Moenia every other night or so with twenty or thirty others waiting during downtime for a massed rebel attack

Favourite visual place: in the days before vehicles or even mounts, approaching the Dathomir Prison, at night, on my belly to avoid aggroing Dark Jedi Knights, and suddenly have the prison gates lit up by a burst of lightning.

Favourite private place; the Redyrd Compound, in the north-west of Tattoine, served by the private shuttle port of Mos Sidious. The best room of the three-guild hall arrangement was my Museum of Blue Holograms, guarded at the door by two blue Royal Guards.

All gone now. Destroyed by Smedley, Macintyre, Torres, Blixtev, Helios and the rest.

I just loved the planets in full, Tatooine, Dathomir, Naboo... Spent a whole lot of time in Bestine when i was a newbie, met my wife (that i'm married to now in real life) on Dantooine, she was in my guild... :) I want to say the Deathwatch Bunker as well, because it was like the only dungeon in SWG that had something challenging in it (that is until all the expansions) and the Corellian Corvette was cool but i was completely dead set on getting mandalorian gear instead :)

I can't believe nobody has mentioned a space ship! JTL was a blessing to SWG and I was completely consumed by it after it got released, I mastered 5 different pilot campaigns, I loved to fly around in my YT-1300 (The millenium falcon style ship), and lastly just when i quit, my Decimator (The imperial pilot master ship). The Yacht was so nice when it first came out as well, came out as a gift for getting JTL in the beginning but now I think that everyone gets one, that really hurt a lot(/rude SOE).

Man i'm getting all teared up inside now

    I am:

Aserhe - Twi'lek - Scylla Galaxy (swg) [canceled]
    Exar - Dark Elf - Lucan D'lere (eq2) [canceled]
Narlash - Night Elf - Emerald Dream (wow) [Active]

    Kaadara.

You know... back when you could run just outside of the city gates and the falling leaves from that one tree would freeze your system for 15 seconds. Yeah... Kaadara. That's where I eventually moved to after starting in Restuss of all places approx July of '03. I played the game for just over 2yrs and would occasionally go back to Restuss just to run around outside the city and slay some spiders for old time sake. I was a Ranger then and I loved the solitude of the wilderness and surveying so much that I found Keren completely by accident. Before the battle of Restuss I actually resub my account and used on of my lesser characters to pay my last  visit there. I can still remember standing on that little bridge inside of the city looking up at the sky with nothing but a t-shirt, a pair of khakis and a CDF pistol and a melon.

I was also a Master Doctor who had some Pistoleer as back-up for unrully customers. My bio had the line "If I can't heal you then I can at least put you out of your misery." - all during the era of long buff lines at the starport in C'net and heavy lag even when approaching the front door of it's cantina because of the crowd.

Can I get a high-five on the Twi'Lek floor slide!!

But it was becoming Master Teras Kasi Artist that did it for me. I was very happy with that character. It was that character that became my precious main. They grew on you didn't they? I stopped playing sometime around CU. Somewere along the lines after the sweeping changes and finding out that my Profession had been eliminated, needless to say I was crushed, I tried the NGE with an alt. I realized that with my mains all of my work, my time, my money invested was gone.  The game forced me to choose between the nine or so profs left and start over again. Or some such strangness.

I could not bring myself to do this with my two mains, my Master Doctor and Master Teras Kasi. I just sat there staring at the character list screen... I just couldn't do it. So... 'till this day I consider myself as having the last Master Teras Kasi and Master Doctor old school style. There they shall remain in pristine condition unscathed by the hand of ignorance.

I'll be honest. I respect all the Elder Jedi. To me they symbolize all of the work, time and effort we put into the game. We know what those people went through to attain that status. There was no greater gaming cruelty laid down than what it took to become Jedi. Those people worked their butts off as did the rest of us. The 2+yrs that I played SWG I saw Jedi once!! - at a wedding in our guild. It was awesome and pure magic!! The two of them put on quite the show there and I'm very glad that I had the chance to experience it that way as opposed to what the game allows now.

There is so much to be said. So many little things that made it all great.

I joined MMORPG.com today because I was reading through some of the threads here and ... well it's just really nice to see people that were there and know what it was. To here some of the ingame language again in that familiar way. I've never really talked about my SWG days before. I know it's been said many times but it definately was The People. All of those wonderful people. I probably never knew any of you during those glory days, but I miss every last one of you very much.

    Tempest & Sunrunner forever.
