The worst thing of the game is that it's plane as a table.
But, maybe it could be interesting if the Bane don't remain at the landing zones waiting for their dead. I played in the beta, so i don't know the current state of the game.
Anyway, it could be a very good game if the Bane form groups with other mates in other landing zones and try to attack the player's cities.
Actually I'm playing it now and I must say, you get the biggest rush when you're trying to defend a CP (capture point) in the Plains or Mires (mid-high level 20 areas) where you get rushed by at least 100 Bane of all sorts. And so the fun comes from a) adapting tactics on the fly b) surviving and c) doing something meaningful to the world (capture points provide resources to everybody - they are key strategic points on the map). I've never felt this sort of thing in any other mmo when vs-ing the environment.
I think this is what makes it fun for me :-) - how it's half the rush of a first/3rd person shooter and also the objective-based questing of an RPG (along with the mmo aspect).
Probably an interesting issue I have, is not to do with the game itself but rather the players - this sort of game is more aimed at the male population (who are more familiar with shooters) so... it'll be interesting to see if it does indeed attract females as well
