WARNING: The Demo

SouldrainerSouldrainer Member Posts: 1,857

This is a warning to people who are considering HGL. Please do yourself a favor and do not play the demo. It is incomplete and does not feature all gameplay features. Furthermore, it showcases the worst part of the game. Text scrolling in the demo, demon populations and variety, shop content, items, randomness, and classes are all very, very, very poorly represented in this demo.

They say that demos usually do not fully represent a game. This is emphatically true with HGL. I suggest checking youtube videos or playing at a friend's house before making your decision. For all the demo's worth, it may as well been a 3D demo of pong.

Playing this game atm and its wicked killing heck loads of demons and ghouls etc... makes a change to fantasy. Graphics are brilliant, gameplay isnt to bad either and the way u can dye your gear and the graphics of your gear is wicked also.

Best thing to do is get on youtube and look at some of the vids, make your own discision. but if your bored with the mmorpg's out there this is worth a go.

I agree with what most other people have posted.  The demo is a pretty clear representation of what you're going to get.  Granted there'll be more variety of fiends to kill, and more of them around in general, but for the most part, that's how the game plays itself.  If you enjoy the gameplay (as I did) you'll enjoy HGL, if you don't, you probably shouldn't buy it because the mechanics remain the same.  If you're more in the gray area, read up on it, there's various reviews and comments regarding the game.

  • I have told my buddies who have downloaded the demo that if they even have the slightest interest after the demo that it is a game for them due to how terrible the demo is, and 5 of my buddies have downloaded it and shrugged, but love the full version.

The demo is a great introduction to the way the game handles with controls though which is what I believe its only purpose should be used for.

god I hope so I'm technically at bare minimum requirements.

They still have the Directx 9.0c version right? The demo I could run fine in medium settings and it looked alright.

I found the demo to be pretty enjoyable. Is it just me, or is there no ending for the demo?  once I've gotten the Components to open the door, go through clear the area out and then go into the other mainteniance area, it leads no where and the demo is done???

actually that's how it was with me too, I dunno if I was just lost or what. I looked online for a map and it showed that the Covenant Steam Tunnels came AFTER I reach Covenent Garden Station, but I could get to the tunnels without even seeing the Station (which I was looking for).

It'd be nice if I knew when the demo actually ended. I might buy the game, I might not, I dunno. What's the clan-stuff like? Is it just go around killing monsters or is there a reason to play multiplayer?
