Well just bought the CE of this game as well as the CE Hellgate London. I been reading alot on TR and it looks like it getting good reviews from the majority that is playing it from different websites. Looks like the average player rates it from 8.0 to a 10. I see very few posting that the game is a failure or it just plain sucks.
How is everyone on mmorpg.com liking Tabula Rasa. I know mmorpg.com has alot of hardcore PvP players that post on this website and usaully if the game doesnt have full blown pvp, it gets trashed.
I am going to secretly play this game from my friends just to see what the hype is all about. I did play BETA, but it didnt keep me interested enough at the time I was playing Guild Wars. Going to try to give this game a chance when the time is right.
Comments
its very casual friendly and got some realy nice
*log in & have fun right away* attitude.
Also the instances seem to be made pretty well.
Dont expect to much deph, but chaos dense atmosphere and lots of fighting for ya live.
If you can affort the 15 bugs(lol) a month beside your main mmorpg,
you will find yourself logging in offen and even play it as main.
And thats why it will survive, maybe WAR
can scratch it with insta action but i doubt anything else can.
Wolf says: a good buy

It has the best quest grind I've seen in an MMO, the instances are superb, and the combat is light years ahead of generic mmo combat.
I played the game for about 50 hours, and simply lost interest in the game. I had a great time while I was there -- just the lack of PvP didn't hold me long term.
I consider myself a hardcore PvP'er, though I still think TR is a great game. Haven't played retail, only beta... I do wish it were FFA PvP with Player Looting, but im sure majority want it the way it is.
Nice game anyway, enjoy it
The game is not the same game it was in beta, the game is a good game. The pvp part of it will come as you level up, besides i dont want to pvp at lvl 10 any how. I think this game will go farther than people think, and another thing that i learned is that you cannot believe every negative thing you read. I read so many negative things about that game, tried the game and so far ive been very very impressed.
The game is a very good game, stop wasting time falling behind every one and get in on the game...:D

Once again, besides the change in mob difficulty and a few fixed bugs, how is the game any different in retail than it was in the beta ?
This is the major problem with Tabula Rasa, after a while there is a chance to loose interest since it has no real longterm motivation except limited Guild pvp and even pvp is not balanced already.
Up to lvl 25 it is cool and fun, after a while people will get probably more bored, the diversification of mobs are not really big and you see the same opponents again and again. Sure, in other games often there is a similarity but at least some games offer endgame pvp content or at least pvp for certain lvls in form of battlegrounds like in WoW.
I have the feeling that if they really dont offer soon a major content update, the game will not hold the masses. The pve action if of course nice, maybe in some cases too much graphic animations i.e. aoe repairs/heling which hurts in the eyes and blocks the view a lot, some like the chaos some not. But if you think about, its only up to lvl 50 and it can be reached without a horrend grind - iam not sure if the content can hold you for longer than just some months right now. Good mmorpgs should keep you interested for years, i have really difficulties to find the content for that in Tabula Rasa.
I'm with you on this one Spizz, I like the feeling of looking forward to content that I know I won't reach for several months and working towards achieving those goals.
The goals in TR seem to be all around getting new skills and higher lvl mobs. In that respect it has a lot in common with Guild Wars (another NC one).
Once you've got all your skills for a character line, you just see the same mobs, the same kind of fight and the same feeling of 'this is never going to end is it'.
For now, it's by far one of the most fun online things to do from login to logout. One of the most appealing aspects imho is that nothing, and I mean NOTHING, feels like a timesink right now.
Everything is done at breakneck speeds. It makes a refreshing change.

Apparently you didn't read his post.
He says he thinks the game has no longevity because of the shallow content and gameplay.
I feel that TR is going age well like EQ][ has. EQ][ was (much) harder at launch, had limited content and virtually no PvP. It (EQ][) took over two years for it to reach its stride and is now stronger than ever. I expect TR to have a similar (=great) future but it may take a year or so for it to mature. I also expect to grow bored with it after six months or so but eventually (and repeatedly) return.
I did read his post, I just didn't see the point of repeating what he said word for word.
I was agreeing by saying that 'I like the feeling of looking forward to content that I know I won't reach for months'. Fact is there isn't any content to reach.
'The goals in TR seems to be all around getting new skilss and higher lvl mobs.', meaning that there is no in-depth content or gameplay.
I was agreeing that there is no content, gameplay or in-depth storyline to follow.
It's a grindfest., but it is fun. Fun doesn't make for longevity.
