I dunno if you guys know what end of a game really is. For isntance once you beat mario the game has an ending it says the end. You do not start off with any extra power you start the whole game all over game therefore yo have reached the end of the game.
In an mmorpg there is no end game you reach the highest lv, the game hasn't ended the world is still running there is still people playing you have the option to continue playing. Yeah a game may get boring after a while of playing but there really is no end game. Even if you have all the best items and gear and stats, there will always be mobs to kill and bosses to kill they respawn , there will always be other players to fight against. The game world will continue to move on unless the servers are shut down forever.
So I notice alot of people will say well whats the end game like , there again there is really no end game. I'm tired of hearing it really lol it's not logical at all and makes me feel like these people who say this are morons.
I'm also tired of people saying mmorpgs are WOW clones, my god ever mmorpg has looked the same before WOW and after there is always a UI and health bar and a map on screen GOOD LORD people were saying DBZ online is a WOW clone , they looked more cel shaded pretty similar to DBZ Budokai fighting games for PS2. For god's sake it is being made by japan and korea if anything it will resemble some game made by them.
But yeah the world is full of morons, or maybe it's just full of hard headed people who don't want to listen who think knowledge is no good.

Its a term used for MMO's. It doesant mean the game has ended like in your mario example.
When someone askes about 'End Game' in a MMO he or she is asking what the high end content is like or that MMO's equivelent.
And people suing the term WoW clone is only being used because WoW is the main stream western game. Its true that WoW copied off other MMO's but that dont go into it.

Name calling is not the best way to kick off intelligent discussion...
But pressing forward.... End game is a phrase most closely associated with level based games that have a cap on them. People view the purpose of the game to reach maximum level....with the hopes of reaching some sort of content previously unavailable to the player up to that point.
In DAOC, it was the Frontier Battlegrounds, (players under level 48 need not apply), in WOW, it was upper level, large scale raiding. LotRO...we'll I'm not sure yet. Some games resolve this by increasing the level cap (WOW, EQ, AC) and ask the players to continue grinding on up. Most of these toss in new land masses to explore as part of the package, with new skills, monsters and even accessories, (housing)
Skill based games like UO, EVE to name a few don't have this same issue, because there is no end game. Especially in the case of EVE, there's really no part of the world I can't get to, even with a brand new character.
But of course, there is an end game of sorts..... in the form of ever increasingly larger, stronger, faster, and more versatile ships. We all suffer from Titan envy...and one day wonder if we'll ever fly one. EVE extends the end game by adding new ship types (everyone's anxiously awaiting the new covert ops battleships which are soon to be available), however it just doesn't seem to be as clearly defined as there is an actual world to live in..and a lot of ways to change the focus of your characters career focus.
Let's take WOW for example... my previous experience in MMORPG's was Lineage 1/2, DAOC and Shadowbane. In all of those games, the end game consisted of getting to top levels, then joining the larger PVP world out there to battle for fame and glory (and realm points/abilities of course)
Due to either a lack of research on my part (very possible) or they really didn't say, I never realized when I started on WOW during the launch that the 'end-game' consisted of level cap increases and pve raiding. (having no previous EQ experience). Well, didn't take me long to realize.... I hate PVE raiding.... and even though I gave it a good trial...(got through AQ 40 on my 2nd go around) I came to the conclusion that I would probably avoid games designed with this sort of 'end game" strategy.

end game is where you want to put it
I won't go into responding to your endgame question since Kyleran already posted a very detailed explanation. However, in terms of your WoW argument and relating it to DBZ online. They're not really saying that the graphics/characters are similar to WoW, what they're really saying is that the Usier Interface (UI) is very similar to WoW's (a bar on the bottom of the screen with square slots where you can place your abilities.) That is what they are referring to.
Now, one can argue that this was there before WoW with EQ and there definetely is some truth to it. However, EQ's UI is 1) archaic (for our standards anyway) and 2) a heck of a lot more customizable than WoW's or even DBZ from what I can gather from the few screens I've seen. The UI for for EQ allowed you to put literally just about anything and wasn't limited to powers/abilities etc. We're also seeing that a lot of new MMO's are trying to copy the WoW UI (LOTR:O did, V:SoH to some extent as well, SWG, Guild Wars, CoH/V as well) I hope that helps answer why people call certain games WoW clones. Of course there are other reasons as well (questing in the similar manner as WoW etc.) but unfortunately I don't know all the details for all of them, just the UI and the questing part.
Your personal estimation of other's intelligence is your own business. However, it's completely logical. An MMORPG that actually came to an end would lose subscribers; they'd leave after they completed the game. From the game company's point of view, that's very bad. So it's very logical that they make sure it doesn't happen. And it may be figurative, but it's still logical, for people to refer to the final stage in a game's play as the "end" even if it doesn't actually end.
Actually, neither of the two MMORPGs I play have a map on screen. One doesn't even have a UI; normally all you see is your connection indicator, a compass rose and your health & mana bars (the health bar of your target is added if you're targetting something, the health & mana bars of your party are added if you're in a party), and a chat window only if there's recent messages. Oh, and a small digital clock showing the in-game time (which you can turn off). The other does have an onscreen UI but it neither looks like nor works like WoW's.
They were saying the interface was a WoW clone. Which it was. As far as I could tell, copied down to the pixel level, although I will admit that the pictures were a bit small to be sure of that.
The cel shading would not be the interface.
I am not sure what you mean by this. WoW was not made in Japan. If you mean DBZO cannot resemble WoW because DBZO is being made in Japan and WoW was not, I can assure that WoW is quite popular even outside the USA and I am sure they had no difficulty getting a copy to study.
Very true. However, it's always good when making such statements to take a careful look in the mirror first.

I feel there is an endgame. The endgame occurs when you have finished character progression. There are no more levels, skills, or character progression of any kind left other then to advance through equipment. There are no new areas to see. You keep going back to the same place and killing the same mobs over and over for the same loot. Basically endgame is when you get to the point where there is nothing new and everything is exact reptetition. This is the end of the game.
End-Game is the end of a game, End-Game content is the gameplay after the end of the storyline. and saying: "But yeah the world is full of morons, or maybe it's just full of hard headed people who don't want to listen who think knowledge is no good. " isn't the best way to get attention, so instead of calling us morons, try learning to meaning of End-game (content), we'd all appreciate it.
And not every game is called a WoW clone, WoW's biggest enemy; Guild Wars is the best evidence of that. If everything was a WoW clone, there wouldn't even be something know as the WoW-clone. because every game would be one, making it useless to call games that way, if everybody knows they are.
And since WoW wasn't the first MMORPG, it's impossible to call everything a WoW-clone, everything is a UO clone in some way, as that was the first big 3D MMORPG.
And now I'm going to lie down... this post gave me a headache .

UO was a 2D game.
The OP is just splitting hairs! When someone says "WoW clone" you bloody well know what he is referring to. Same with "end game".
this is what my WoW interface looks like-

best UI ever going to start playing WoW just for that UI

I have played every MMO that has ever come out.
all jokes aside....
WoW really does have one of the most customizable UIs out there.
Why?
Because they allow people to do crazy stuff like this http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/full9261.jpg
but also
because with such a large population, you get a lot more variety.
Say what you will about WoW, the interface customization is absolutely incredible,
in fact, it's almost TOO complex and there are TOO many options for the "average" WoW'er to ever really grasp
Look at Tabula Rasa, one of the only big complaints is that you can't customize the UI at all. Why? People got SO used to being able to customize the SH*T out of their UI in games like WoW
It was? Hmmm... still, it was one of the first big MMORPG's .

If there's no end game and no wow clone, then answer me this, is there really a spoon?

As far as wow clones go i think its pointless to use that term. Its used alot mainly becuase its alot of peoples first mmo experince. Though i have to say wasnt pre-cu SWGs UI similar to what it is today meaning that it predates wow and cant really be called a clone?
Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

Meh, it was similar but it had a lot of it's own differences. I think what players refer to with WoW clone is that they all seem to have that one bar underneath where you could put your specials, oh and also the cooldowns. In SWG you had the skill screenie where you could spam your specials (no cooldowns, which I believe needed to be corrected)
Damn, why did I love that game so much...
