Should MMO's be ported to and from consoles?

What do you think of porting MMO's from console to PC and PC to console?  Should it be done to create a larger player base?  What are some concerns for both sides?

    definitely.

however, I feel MMOs need to be standardized as far as controls go.  IE:  the default control setup should be mouse + keyboard.

leave controls open to be reconfigured so console users who either cannot use a mouse/keyboard can still use their controller

what happens with porting a lot of times such as console porting, things like reticules are increased to compensate for the lack of sensitivity on a console controller.  I think the ability to tweak things like this would give one platform an unfair advantage, thus it should be the same on on fields.

the controller issue pretty much seems to be the sole reason PC gamers dislike consoles, but they forget they can use mice and keyboards as well (just like a PC can use a game controller)

take controllers out of the equation and theres nothing to debate

PC to console hasn't been such a hot move. It usually requires more monthly fees and extra gadgets to hook up to your console. However, the more player base, the better!

Be sure to look forward to Lord of the Rings Online for console and Maple Story to hit the Nintendo DS!

No i dont think its a good idea. Take FFXI. Being multiplatform has done a lot to hold the game back. Hvaing to make it compatible. PC's tend to get better a lot faster than consoles and game companies cant or dont want to have to support multiple versions of the same game.

Doesn't matter much, because if the development of consoles continue in same route, there isn't gonna be any different between consoles and PC's in future.
