It's just blood, not that much even, games like jericho or manhunt 2 seem to have the most blood on the market today. Sadly it attracts children, age of kids

IMO the blood and guts just take away from the game, is it really neccessary? Lets hope that their development time is spent on content rather than making sure they make the most dramatic death blow(which will get old after the first 20 kills).
The blood spatter effects actually are one of the features I don't like about AOC (won't keep me from playing).
I don't mind that they have them...but seriously, these effects are way over the top.... the mobs practically explode blood.... which might make sense in some rare magical spell cases, but even a brutal sword chop isn't going to cause the blood explosion animations I've witnessed in these demo's.
Sort of detracts from the immersion when the blood effects border on comical......

I hope there is a slider to adjust it. Nothing against blood and a few bodyparts bleed like a fountain if you cut them. Still i think its overdone a bit from what i have seen in the movies.
The screenshot is funny. Because its the view of someone whos wearing glasses
The stains on the imaginary glass look more as if a tomato juice jar exploded somewhere. Seeing that in motion is another story of course but as a still image it gives me the urge to look for my potato chips can.

haha true.
maybe its a sign that the AoC developers know they are making a game for nerds with glasses that love bewbs and blood!
I know I wouldn't be happy if I was standing there, on some frozen mountain, chatting with my buddies and some "barbarian" comes up and hacks them to pieces, spraying blood on my specs? Man, what if I don't have a lens cloth with me? I don't want to use my shirt, it may scratch the lenses!
the blood on the screen was a big addition that was pre-built into the dx10 coding, look at bioshock, water is constantly hitting the screen
i have no doubt the blood on the screen works with dx9c because i've been told that all of the current screenshots are in directx 9c
however it doesnt take any extra time to script it in, merely a full 8-12 hour days work for 1 guy if he really puts down the pedal

now it isnt quite killbill2, but with all respect the general blood *not screen splatter* is a bit more than it would be in most cases but it really depends on a persons heartrate and blood pressure when their arm leg or head are chopped off as to how much blood sprays profusely, now as for the screen splatter, it wouldnt take much more than a couple drops of blood splattering on a camera to give the large drop effects we see in the screenshots, and considering if you take a hammer to the back of someones head its going to give a good one-time spray of blood drops in a quite large area i'd say that part was covered very well

Apparently blood and boobs is what makes a game "adult".

The blood on the screen like that is just an emphasis of a fatality move, like Fion said.
Its not like it happens every 5 seconds.
Bah, thats nothing, you ought to see my 2 year old when he gets into the paint at preschool.

Sweet. It's about time there was a brutal MMO.
we demand MORE BLOOD!!!
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
Really....it's "Conan The Barbarian", not "Conan The Politically Correct Cartoon".
Bring on the Brutality!
Will there be vampirism in the game then?

If you don't like the blood - turn it off or tone it down. Personally I think the effects are new and the coolest thing on the mmo block.

Blood spatters along the lines of 300 would be cool. maybe even a darker, arterial-blood color...
I dont mind blood, but this is just sick. Too much imo.
