Weezer brings us another weekly article: http://aoc.warcry.com/news/view/78776

"...when it comes to our main server centers for launch we are splitting them into two primary territories: North America and Europe. This is the core divider. This means that your primary server destination will be decided according to where you buy your retail box. So, North American gamers will only get the choice of North American servers, and vice versa."

To put it simply: North American client = North American servers; and European client = European servers.

Its kind of strange there hasn't been a lot of backlash about the US EU division. I remember in several other games during development (LOTRO comes to mind most recently but there were many others) any talk of splitting up users (particularly international guilds) would have the boards flooded with complaints, but not so here. Of course, I don't visit the official boards so maybe its worse there.

Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence.

There is a big thread on the Oceanic Server situation (or lack of at the moment) Weezer author of this article is one who champions the cause there.

Apart from that there is a poll on servers and a few have expressed their dismay - especially multinational guilds.

Personally I feel its a situation that can be resolved and seen to work in other games such as guild wars where the player has the free will to change districts / contintents at any time.

Perhaps it's because the parent company is EU based so it's expected the same level of support as with the US side. The opposite is sometimes not true.

Or maybe perhaps because people start getting used to the idea of buying the boxed version that they want through the internet, thus bypassing the artificial barriers imposed by the game companies.
