I'm still trying to decide what impact the class changes will have on the overall balance of the game. What do you guys think?
I for one am happy I play a rogue mostly and i like the class changes they have made.

Any shake-up in the classes in welcome for me, most people whinne but I love the fact that I'll have the learn to handle my new abilities and counter others.
I like looking at the official patch notes, but i also like to read articles from "real" people Gives me a better sense on what people think about it.
I'm kinda confused >_>
When I read the article and the patch notes about the class changes for Shaman, it seems to me that they get a bit of a boost.. but I hear that a lot of shamans are complaining about the changes.
Can anyone tell me in what ways they are getting "nerfed".. I also have a shaman but I don't play her anymore :P
it seems to me that the shaman class has been broken for awhile.. at least from my experiences.
I was frustrated by the fact that everyone could do something better than us. I know I know, it's a hybrid class and I shouldn't complain, but if everyone is better than us in any aspect of our class, then what's the point? There are much more mana efficient healers, better DPSer, and harder nukers.
I'm not saying that enh and elem shamans aren't powerful.. but i'd say they are very very gear dependent.
p.s paladins are OP healers.

And Pallys are plate wearing healadins...

The shaman changes are a little complex, and require an understanding of the class and a bit of maths to understand the full impact of. It's more than likely blizzard didn't understand the impact of the changes when they designed them. Read the shamen boards and these things are debated endlessly.
The basic upshot is that resto and enhancement are both getting buffs.
However elemental is getting nerfed. Whilst their basic damage is improving, the benefit they gain from high spell critical chances is decreasing. Hence whilst an elemental shaman in green/blue gear may well see his DPS go up, a fully epicced shaman may well end up doing around 10% less damage. Since before this change, elemental shamen already had to fight hard for raid places, they are now afraid they will lose their places in the raid and are understandably, quite pissed off.

All classes are gear dependent, but some are more gear dependent than others.
For example, in green gear a shadow priest will typically thrash a DPS warrior. Kit out both of them in full PvP epics, and now the warrior has a much better chance. Hence warriors are more gear dependent than shadow priests.

My overall guess is that the most significant change is the extra bonus spell damage that healers will receive.
This will make a significant difference in small skirmishes (up to 3v3) where healers may both DPS and heal.

This patch supposed to go live today?
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
yup.. scheduled for today
