Is there any games in development that will be in any way like SWG Pre-Cu?

I am in search of a new game and I sure miss my SWG Pre-Cu. I have been playing World of warcraft since the NGE hit and just about burned out on WoW.

I have a question for you and then I will answer your question. Why would you go from SWG to WoW? Even the NGE has more features than WoW does. If you compare feature for feature, you will find that SWG just has more. Anyhow, Darkfall is the only MMORPG in development that will be like Pre-CU SWG. Currently they are deciding on who to publish their game. Once they decide on that, they will be entering Beta.

No, there isn't anything like SWG Pre-Cu or even comming. Most mmorpgs developers are just too busy copy other mmorpgs for quick cash.
But if You tell what kind of feature You want, then maybe there is something closer enough?
(As long You don't ask skill based game system)

Darkfall i guess, but don't expect the bugs, lag , glitches of PRE-CU.

It's almost an exact copy of pre-cu swg, but I wouldn't get your hopes too high as there is next to no budget available and it's a few guys in the basement type of deal right now.
The engine they are using is also commerically availible for $100, which means 100% failure, a couple of fanbois in a basement doesn't make an MMO, they're clearly out of their depth.

Cause SWG is buggy as hell and has shite content oh and it takes half a year for a expansion and theres noone playing but crazy people who like paying for a mess to just stand around a cantina. Atleast Blizzard spend time polishing their game..........

Chapter 7 has all planets populated now and Chapter 8 has new gunships etc coming.

The answer to your question is I personally like warcraft and enjoyed the game for almost 2 years it was different and my 1st fantasy game. I do prefer sci-fi over fantasy but wow was fun but now its gotten to be rep and dungeon only for me. I did log in to swg today to find my acct. active for a trial the games good again from what I see excepth the piece of crap interface it has. The most important feature of the game how I interact with it ruins it. TY.
Yes I know I read up on this game and added to my favorites page until they announced they were not doing anything with it right now.
darkfall is skill based but just keep an eye on it : )

You're right in that SWG and WoW are two different types of games, but you're wrong in thinking that because he liked PreCu SWG he can't enjoy WoW. I found myself in the same boat as the OP. Nothing can compare to my experience in PreCu SWG, but WoW was certainly fun, too.
People can bash pre-CU SWG all they want, but seriously, it was one of the most innovative MMORPG's. It was the most sandbox and the depth of the game was insane. There is a reason why so many old school SWG players constantly talk about just how awesome it was. It's going to be a long while before another MMO can provide the same experience for me.
The problem is that to have a game that open and deep, it requires a lot of money, people and skill. Otherwise it will have tons of bugs and lack polish (like SWG). SWG was simply too ambitious.
That's why there are no games in development that can rival SWG. It's far too risky. The best bet for people looking for a more sandbox experience is EVE, but that game doesn't have universal appeal. I tried EVE several times, but the core gameplay is just too slow.
To answeryour question tho as far as i know there is no game like SWG pre CU being developed.

Just wait for darkfall guys, Skill-based, do anything you want MMO. Or you could just go play WoW, or lineage, ROFL.

I just found the Darkfall website yesterday, and from what I've seen, wow. From a discussion on the Darkfall forum, it seems like it'll have even more depth than pre-CU SWG, and will be set in a Fantasy setting. Check out the website and deside for your self though, because everyone has thier own opinions on wether a game is fun or not.
