VolvinoVolvino Member UncommonPosts: 79

Hey fellows...

Currently I am looking for a game with lots of grouping... Before Ive played SWG preCU, where I loved playing in hunting groups... also ive played DDO, which I also liked, but the population was just too low... So any suggestions?

Vanguard needs alot of grouping as well past a certain level.  If your careful you could solo til 20 or so if i remember correctly, but most start grouping around 14 or so.  I hear the population is a bit better for lower levels due to the merges, and there may even be some hope for the game.  You do need a good computer to run it though, but it does look nice if you can handle the requirements.

FFXI has the best group environment i have EVER played in online.

Final Fantasy XI is a group game.  It was made by the Japanese (who live in a culture of "us" not of "I" like the US and most of the west).  The result is an extremely fun group oriented game.

Never once in my entire 2.5 years of playing FFXI did I ever feel like avoiding PUGs.  Wow and other games have left me cold when it came to group but, FFXI forces you to. (Unless you roll a Beastmaster, even then a group of Beastmasters > all).

Now, here's the warning.  FFXI is old.  I mean real old.  It's dated, it's economy is busted, and it's player-base is jaded and tired.  That being said....

FFXI > All for group dynamics.  Srsly, if you want to develop a GREAT group-based game, examine FFXI.

Gawd i miss that game....   Oh well, rumor has it Square/Enix is working on the next big thing.

I play EVE and there's really not much grouping involved for me so far, though I know higher end ops require teamwork.  I would recommend checking out some of the higher population games like WoW or EQII; the most important aspect of grouping is being able to find a group, fast! :)
