What if ?

Hello all, was thinking about EQOA. For those that have played the game..it  was put together very well, lots of challenge and neat things to do.

In many ways, it's better than EQ Live. Your classes have alot more choices etc.

But, from what I've read the biggest challenge for EQOA atm is.. it's dying a slow death. Most seem to think it's because SOE has stopped supporting the game.

**Example: The one thing you MUST have to play EQOA is the game disk, the game runs from the disk on the PS2. Without the disk, new players cant play ( No hard drive on the PS2, it plays off the disk and uses the memory card for basic information storage only, like a save game ).  You cant find the disk anywhere ( not carried on greatest hits ) and the Sony store says its 'out of stock'.

So..What if... Sony released EQOA for the PS3 as a downloadable game, and also released it as a downloadable PC game? SOE would have zero cost having to make the discs, gamebox, marketing etc., and could immediately start making money from new subscribers etc.

With the PS3's incredible system resources, hard drive etc., and the PC's same ability...there would be no holding back EQOA.. future graphics updates, expansions....all would be possible, the future of EQOA secure!

I know it's a stretch, but what if SOE actually thought about this, the game would never die.

I played EQOA for several years as well as other MMO's past and currently and I it's only my opinion but if they make a game for the PS3 in the vein of EQ it needs to be a new game not EQOA as it is. I still check the forums for EQOA to see what's going on and it's really entertaining. People still asking for the same things people asked for 2 years ago. If you haven't gotten them what does that tell you??? Plus it's all things people have in other MMO's. So while everyone there spouts off about how EQOA could be the best game out there all they do is cry for things other people currently enjoy palying a games other than EQOA.

Also EQOA is in no way, shape, or form better than EQ Live. EQOA basically is and will always be 1)Find a camp 2)Kill same group of monsters over and over. I do adnit every game has at least a bit of a grind in it somewhere but EQOA is basically all grind. Go to the forums and see where folks are begging for new XP camps. Are you kidding me. You want a new place to stand stagnant for hours on end, what could be more boring.

The game started to die long before Sony slowed down their support of it. It never really got that big to begin with so why would they port it to PS3 or PC. They already have far superior pc games. A day will come when the remaining people there will try something else, then they will wonder why they didn't get out earlier and enjoy games with content and updates. They all whine about the game dying and server merges and they don't want their years of work wasted. News flash any mmo will someday come to end so your work will ultimately be wasted, so why waste it grinding away in a game with no players and nothing to do but grind(and don't tell me abot the raiding and questing, I know it's a joke).

This was all just my opinion of course if you play EQOA enjoy!

i got out of that game a long time ago, , heck i even got the chance to beta test it , and from my expirence what they need to do right now is  make it F2P ,  instead of P2P , theywill get people playing the game , do like guild wars and allow people to play it free and you will be surprised at how many would come back and  go out to buy the game .,  that is the only way to give life  to a dieing game. it worked for shadowbane and other games too.
