Actually not all use random gibberish names. No not all but most do seem to Most don't use a hauler and miner setup. At least not the greedy ones. All of the ones ive seen have and from what i gather from certain ingame channels others tend to see similar setups too. You may have a point about warping in at the same time but then again there are bot programs that allow for jet can mining. So basically then miner never has to warp out until the belt is depleted and only the hauler is the one who warps in and out most of the time. I belive i covered this in hauler doing patrolls. as in patrolling the cans and emptying its cargo hold at HQ. As lack of communication most people don't respond to tells Yep thats true which is why you dont go with this on its own . I sure as hell don't unless it's someone I know though 90% of my communication is done via Vent. about 70% for me In eve there are plent of established corps whose corp objectives include hunting Macro's and farmers wherever they find them and over the past 18 months they have developed ways of finding SUSPECTED macros and set up public channels there for people to share intelegence and ideas on sorting out macros and famers. And just before i post this ill just say always petition a suspected macro befre stealing its stuff.
So basically you only catch the most obvious and dumb guys who have an IQ at or below 70. As for the jet can method I was talking it about it has nothing to do with littering a belt with easy to steal jet cans.

Are you refering to the method of amking a can todump ore which is then imediatly emptied by a roving hauler?

So, is eve still playable for a new character? Thinking about starting it up, but I don't want to be blasted away by experienced players either, or be outcasted because I know no one and everything is tigt nit.
Is it new player friendly?

eve is very playable for the new character. The starting point now is far better than when i started, with more starting skillpoints, lower requirements for advanced learning skills and cheaper implants. The tutorial is expanded and more thorough and the first cycle of ten missions gives you a couple of skillbooks, ships and implants.
If you are interested in exploring/learning for yourself you will be rewarded by teh depth of the game. don't hesitate to ask questions in your starting corp channel, but try to make an effort before hand.

well, both games have isk/gold sellers. but, wow doesn't have devs cheating on all there servers, whereas eve, has devs cheating on all it's servers (perhaps not on the chinese server, but unless you're chinese, you wouldn't know). and yeah, eve only has one server; which is all the more reason a dev should never even have the hint of he/she might be cheating, MUCH LESS be caught cheating.
so, whereas both games will have cheaters, i.e. macroers, gold/isk sellers, etc; only one has had devs accused of many different abuses/cheats, to which, they've only "investigated" and then admitted to a few of the accusations and have, wholeheartedly, ignored a number of accusations.
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

Eve has never been friendly to anyone.
But New players, if they go and look for a decent corp ( i recommaned eve university ) the start should be easy.
