Out of full-fledged MMOs, I really liked CoH/CoV and played for about 2 1/2 years. For me, the big hook was that the genre was different than other MMOs AND that the character creation was so detailed. I could (and did) spend hours making a new character, writing his/her bio, etc... Playing was almost secondary as far as I was concerned. In 2 1/2 years, I never got a character over level 30, but I had created and deleted hundreds of cool and unique heroes all with their own stories. The game, in general, is also very casual player friendly and most of the content is soloable. I don't have the time or even the desire to participate in raids, guilds, politics or any of that anymore (2 years in EQ was enough for me, thanks). When I did group in CoH it was either in pick-ups or with my teen daughter, exclusively (we had a blast, too!).
Asheron's Call - played it for 4 years. Nothing comes even close to the fun I had the first 2 years I played that game. It was exciting and the people were so close knit like a real family and I couldn't wait to log in every day:)
I would have to say asherons call.... I just loved the way loot worked in that game. DAoC is a close second because of the RvR. WoW was good till they killed open PvP and forced Raiding................Bioware might be making a new Mmorpg.

I agree EQ was my favorite MMO as it set the standard for other MMO's that followed, with perhaps the exception of AC, which came out slightly before EQ. I could opine for several paragraphs as to why I liked the game, however I find myself relishing in the memories and reflecting on the sentimentality that the game instilled.
The Old Timers Guild Laid back, not so serious, no drama. All about the fun!

Eve online- depth, strategy, integrity from CCP, lore, community, the list is endless.
SWG pre NGE- hands down koster had a good idea here- it just needed content at release. 32 professions and a skill system do work. And SOE's take for the NGE paved the way for "what not to do".

Asherons Call - My first true mmo and I'll never forget her. She was a work of art.
Dark Age of Camelot - My fondest memories derive from this one. Plus I loved the pvp system.
World of Warcraft - Just a great and fun time in the beginning...
