I have a level 29 ranger, and quite enjoy DR. But it seems to me that there are basically four or five dungeons that are remapped each time you enter. Further, the mobs seem to be similar (two or three monsters, with several jumping jacks) but different appearances.
EVERY fight is with a mob; never just a single boss or champion.
Dungeon Runners was developed on a tight budget, and the end result is outstanding. But, I am finding that it is getting tiresome.
I have hundreds of thousands in gold, but the merchants all sell stuff that I am not ready for, or stuff that is less valueable than my looted stuff.
I played a day or two for free, then paid for a subscription. I have sinced cancelled the subscription because I suspect that when my $5 is used up I will have exhausted all the entertainment value from this game.
Let me repeat. This is an excellent free game, and is good value for $5 a month--but I am not sure it can hold me the way UO, WOW and a few others did.

I think you answered your own question. This is a FREE (or cheap as free) game. Why on earth would you expect it to be as engaging as WoW?
I don't think they really expect to have a lot of people subscribing indefinitely. I think they expect players to leave and return in a very casual way.
I have a feeling you'll return after a chunk or two -- $5 isn't a big investment to check out new improvements to a solid game.
I kind of like this model, actually. If more games started out doing a few things well -- and only charged a nominal fee at first -- it seems to me they'd be giving themselves a big break from the ridiculous expectations generated by the hype machine.
It's a lot better than promising the moon and stars and being forced to deliver nothing more than a leaky tube of glitter-glue on launch day.
