I'm gonna have to go with what a few others said and say Runepriest, only becuase dwarves (especially the healers) are usually the least or one of the least played races in any MMO. Not too sure what a Runepriest specializes in or what they can do but yea they'll probably be the least played.

Also not sure about the Archmage. Haven't really seen anyone talk about them yet. Actually to be fair their career profile isn't even out yet so we'll have to wait on that one.

The most played without a doubt will be chosen.

The only other standard cast nuke/heal healer is zealot, but their rituals (ground targeted debuffs/buffs basicaly) make them a bit more interesting.

They lay runes on the ground that have some pretty sick effects. Picture something along the lines of dropping totems in WoW as a Shaman.

i am a dwarf player at heart

i always love being one of the minorities in MMO's (this came about after playing 65 levels as a NE hunter on WoW)

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Is the "rune laying" still in? I thought it was changed to just normal buffs or something (at one point, they were supposed to pre cast their runes, but that seems to have been scarped for normal buffs, I think someone from d3 or w/e latest show was, said rune priests' buffs lasted 60min..)

But meh, we'll see how it goes, they still have quite a ways to go before release.

Well thinking IF Dwarfs play like ACTAL Warhammer Dwarfs RPS would be VERY powerful Dwarfs on their own look 'meh' but slap a few runes of them and they are VERY powerful, yea RPs may be a gloyifed 'buff bot' but those 'buffs' will be damn good..

So from a MMO player's view RPs will be bad, from a Warhammer player's view RPs are a MUST

    Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!

I don't understand it, because it flies in the face of normal MMOs, but the pet class, Squig Herder, consistantly comes up in last place in the popularity polls I see on forums.

    --------------------------------
-Been there, done that: Xsyon, WoW, EVE, Maplestory, City of Heroes, Guild Wars, Warhammer Online, FF11, Rift
    -Currently playing: Not MMOs
-Wants to check out: SWTOR, Dark Millennium

Thats because pets don't equal 'win button' in this game. (Sorry still bitter about all the kiddie hunter who cant play their class endgame due to being able to lvl that class easily,  in a certain game I still play.. I want them to take away feign death..just for a few weeks...)

The game is set up differently than most games plus if you looking for a popular pet class.. The White Tigers will be the one that everyone is on (IF we get White Tigers).

Basically melee heavy DPS Elves with giant axes and white tigers as pets...

Which do you think will be more popular? Also, the Squig herders will be pretty damn popular, you have come to a forum about WAR most of us know a lot about the LORE of the game and already have an idea of what we are going to play.

Forum polls are not a good cross section of the people who are going to be playing the game.

    1. Usually only about 100 or so people answer the poll.  When you have an estimated 500,000 people wanting to play the game that is not a good cross section.  You would need at least 50,000 people to answer a poll to even start getting in the ballpark of what classes people will actually be playing.

    2. A very small minority of players actually visit these forums & it is only certain types of gamers that do visit the forums.  The mass majority of gamers never read or post on these types of forums, so even the cross section we would get from MMORPG.com readers is not a decent representation of the majority of people who will be playing the game.

here is my guess at this-

the dwarfs and greenskins probably will be the least played races, with runepriest  being the least popular class, but i do think there will be a lot of engineers.  chaos and empire will be the most popular races i think,  with both elf races coming in a close second.

Havnt look at the Alliance, but id imagine that the Zealot will probably be the least played on the Destruction.

    1. Most peeps will class it as a healer

    2. It can ressurect

I wanted to play a Orc choppa but i got a funny feeling everyman and hes dog will role for a Orc choppa or the tank version, mmm i think its a black guard.  I personally like the sound of a zealot its just the ressurection im not keen on, i want be murdering not bloody ressing, anyway not made my mind up yet will have to wait 12 months to see how the game is taking shape.

Remember guys, least popiular does not always mean least powerful.  In my now decade+ experience in playing MMORPGs, I have found that a powerful player can make any class succesful. Just takes good understanding of your class, a better understanding of everyone elses classes, and knowledge of the typical tactics used in a battle. Know what to expect and your already at an advantage.

I COMPLETELY agree.  I play a dwarf holy pally on WOW, not the most prefered healing class.  At the end of any raid I had more "Effective" heals than any other healer period.  Regardless of the class, or popularity, it all comes down to each players knowlege of their own class and how they interact with others.  I will be playing a Dwarven Runepriest, and Chaos will know my name because I will be the reason they can't get any HK's.

Will be interesting to see how much of an improvement a RunePriest's buffs give to a group...... if they follow DAOC's model where the best buffs gave about a 30% advantage...expect RP's to become more popular.....

i do not think the dwarves are getting a fair shot in all this. if you read the lore, the dwarves are pretty much the strongest, most courageous, and loyal races. i think a lot of people will be surprised how many dwarven people there actually will be. also a runepriest will most likely be least played, but to the person that said they have nothing special. arent being able to lay run letters on the ground that give buffs pretty unique? no other healer in WAR has this ability. warrior priests, zealots, shamans pretty much have the same healing mechanic (thats excluding any self-buff factors like that fury thing warriors priests get).
