LF Achievement-Based Casual MMO

Hello Everyone, and thanks in advance for your advice.

I'm currently looking for a new MMO. I've been an avid WoW player since it's release three years ago, and now that I have entered college, the time that I can put into a game has dropped off dramatically. In WoW, I was a hardcore raider throughout high school and always enjoyed the personal achievements that were available through end-game (gear, crafting recipes, weapons, etc.). Now that I can no longer raid, WoW has lost a majority of its appeal.

I'm looking for a game that has a great personal achievement system, similar to WoW, but without the large-scale raiding, 5 hours a night requirement. I'm a fan of both PvE and PvP, so I've got no preference either way. In an ideal world, I would like to find a game that one could climb the ranks and reap the rewards as "one of the most achieved player in the game" (though I don't intend on ever aspiring to such a state) while doing primarily solo or small-group based tasks as opposed to WoW's large 25-man tasks. I would enjoy the freedom to log off at any point, even if that meant it would take me a long time to get anywhere.

It's a pretty picky query, but if I could find something like this, that'd be great.

    City of Heroes/Villains.

You will "complete" it a lot easier then WoW.  But if you want to completely and totally master it, good luck.  It easy to understand how to improve your character up to a point (level 50 and quite successfull), but if you want to be the best of the best...that will require quite some work...a LOT of work.  I am not sure I understand it well enough myself, the IO set bonuses you pick have soo many ramifications.

The end-game is all about grouping.  There are 2 optional raids (same rewards as grouping).  But honestly, the challenge will be incredible if you want to be the BEST.  If you just want to succeed and complete it, then it will be very casual and easy...and as you can read, tons of peoples will tell you how casual the game is.

But CoV is easy to start, hard to master.  Been the BEST...is quite a challenge.  I am doing fine and well, I am competitive...but I don't master CoV completely.   You can test yourself in PvP, but you may want to learn how to join the test server to test against peoples from all the servers (you can copy your character as often as you want from a server to the test server, so you can test and mess stuff...and match real hawks in PvP)  Don't think the PvP is that great...but it would be a good gauge for your understanding of your character.  Completing the LRSF is the hardest grouping encounter...and honestly...I find it more challenging then any raid I ever tried...that's been said...once you face that challenge, you are left with the task to improve yourself better...and the system is amazing on that level, there is so many possibilities...

Lord of the Rings Online has a pretty cool achievement system called the Deed system which rewards you for exploring, killing monsters, completing quests, etc.  Completing these deeds can earn you titles which are cosmetic or traits which are functional.

Tabula Rasa also has a series of quests called Targets of Oppertunity which reward you for exploring, defending/attacking control points, and killing monsters.
