I've been gaming on computers since Zork was released. I've been playing mmorpgs since M59 launched and I have played every mainstream mmorpg to date minus WWIIO. This is the first time I've ever had the experience of the recommended specs being the minimum just to install a game and not not being able to run it on it's lowest settings. Not to mention that I far exceed the recommended specs as far as processor.

As I stated, after the driver revert I am now actually running on "high" settings without any issues (minus a little chunkyness in bigger cities), making this whole argument moot and showing me that the specs on the box are just fine.

I have no doubt that a 8 series card would run this game incredibly, it's just in that cards (no pun intended) for me at the moment so I have to either make do with what i have, or walk into the sunset without VG :)

VG just doesn't allow me to do that with the performance that I get :(
I can run EQ2 and Galaxies (ugh) maxxed out with everything cranked without any issues, I can play TR and HG:L maxxed out without issues, and SP games too like Oblivion and HL2 all cranked, and yet I can't even run VG on it's lowest settings and get playable framerates :(
I know there are people playing flawlessly... but for me... the performance is only a tiny bit better than when it released.

I see your above post, upgrade to an 8800GT and you will be singing a different song.

Oh I know my vid card is way dated, but it should still run better than it does on low settings considering how other current games run on high and very high for me.

    Hi

maybe you could buy this card: ATI Radeon 1650Xp pro. Not expensive at all and VG works fine.

    Dual core 2,8 / 2,5 Go ram/500 go sata II 16 mo/

    ATI 512 Ram

Talking about 512 ram of course, not 256

this one. You can find in your contry for few bucks i'm sure. Nice, works perfectly with VG but also with Lotro (high details etc)

    regards
