Blizzard "down"?

Hello,

I've been having trouble that last couple hours accessing anything Blizzard related.

I cannot access the main WoW site, the European site, the Armory or even the Blizzard customer service site.

Whenever I launch the game and enter my password it gets stuck on "Success!" and just sits there. I hit cancel and it goes to "Retrieving realm list" and again just sits there. I restart, try again, same problem.

I can access everything else on the internet except the above mentioned sites.

Everything was fine yesterday...

Any ideas?

Dunno how or why that would have happened...

Any ideas as to how I can get this sorted?

Because my guild doesn't have a site and I cannot access the Blizzard sites and every other site I frequent isn't into WoW this is pretty much my only option help wise.

Because it always interferes with the MMO's I play I keep it off.

I don't think it's been hacked or anything...the only problem I'm having is with Blizzard etc...everything else is perfectly normal.

    I think it's a sign

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

NEVER EVER EVER turn your firewall off.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Once at a game de I used to work out they had to block all Blizzard IPs and anything related to WoW. The producer claimed it improved productivity greatly. This was when WoW first launched or shortly afterwards btw

It is likely a problem o your end, and specifically your computer. I doubt your account was hacked because then all you would get is an "Invalid User /password" error. Try loggin on with another computer if able, else send a message on the Blizzard techincall support forums. Take a look in those threads as well, usually if your having a problem, your not alone"

    Good luck

Best firewall is hardware, by the time your program firewall detects an intruder.... its to late. they are in....

I'm having the exact same problem. Never had an issue with my connection to Blizzard before but have been unable to access it for hours now.

Australia? I think it's Optus again.

Could be. I'm with Optus too - but having no problem with any other site.

    Same here.

WoW uses to much bandwidth so it got blocked.   the sad part is that it's actually possible since ISP's have done the same thing to other games.

Just spoke to Optusnet customer service and they assured me that no site is ever banned because of bandwidth usage.  They said it is most likely an issue with the Blizzard's Australian server. x.x

You mean it wasn't the end of WoW as soo many people here on the forums predict?

Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware

"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

Maybe the crappiness that is WoW finally imploded on itself causing a rift in the space time continuum.  oh well, it is just WoW :-)

    Well no kidding...lol

But, you should check your firewalls program permissions after a patch, sometimes the promps won't pop up thru the game screen.
