Rapid Reality / Phylon

I hadn't checked for quite some time and just recently, out of curiosity, tried going to the RR site.  Nothing.  Also the Phylon site.  Same.

Anyway, I guess they just died?  Anyone know what happened?  I'm just mildly curious.  I had followed and pre-ordered their online service ages ago before they cancelled TC and switched to putting out Phylon.  Anyway, they were also supposedly working on an Africa MMO as well.

Figured I'd check the rumor mill :-)

It hasn't even been 6 months since Phylon released.  That was quick.

Phylon barely lasted a few weeks..if it lasted that long even.

Considering the fiasco that they had already shown concerning The Chronicle, and the utter nonsense that Phylon ( a.k.a. Endless Ages 2 ) showed  during beta, it was no surprise to most of us. Rapid Reality was a fricken' joke, and they deserved to fail.

Rapid Reality vanished. And so did all their games. Luckily I got my money back for that preorder (my first mmo-preorder, and my last). I followed Rapid Reality's fall. It struck me how we, the future paying customers, have lots of things to read about a company like RR during their "hype" period, before there is any real substance or proof of a functional game. Sites like mmorpg.com help companies like RR to promote their "games" but when things start to go bad for a company theres usually little interest make a story out of that.

By the way - anyone knows of a site like this that publish critical articles about mmo's and the companies behind them? :)

Until then, i'll just wait here for our old CM Ceasarsghost to turn up and say that The Chronicle really existed!

Oh, almost forgot - anybody remember the screenshots of the amazing lavacave?

Interesting that this site has yet to write a news article about the company folding but they sure jumped on the chance to promote the game and accept advertising revenue for Phylon which helped sucker a few more people into losing their money. Shame on you MMORPG.com.
