I will never play Vanguard !

And I'll tell you why :

It was released too soon and that killed the game permanently. There will never be a large population at ANY GIVEN TIME, I'm sure most things are fixed, but population is the key for MMO"s. I must say I never played Vanguard and never will and don't tell me i should not even be posting because I'm telling facts anyway.

Last year I played EQ2 Echoes Of Faydwer just after release and it was great, I got fooled by the trial and purchased the game, after the starting area population droped to almost nothing durring the day, and still low in the evening. This made a great game into a bad one. And don't give me the old you have to find a good guild bull, you need a good population so everytime you play, players take you in a new direction of fun.

D&D had the same problem and believe it or not it's now a well pollished game, no bugs and very deep game but you must like Dungeons (instences ). what saves D&D is that it's a small world.

War Hammer and AOC is using Vanguard's flop an example so expect more delays before release.

I hate to say it but I'm Back to WOW because of a friend at work would like to learn how to play MMO's. I must say that its better for me then ever that I play it casual. The population is so high on most all servers that I can pic and choose friends that are like me, sometimes I even go on just to chat with them about life.

I'm my guild we have a guy that loves to tell us about all the great stuff he's doing, and it's so irritating that you can see that most are sick of him, He beat me in a dual and thought he was the greatest, and the only thing I could think of is I'm glad I gave up on being like him.

So to make a long story short play a game thats fixed and populated, and what helps me is think Casual untill something good comes out.

Wow, Just by this paragraph alone, it's safe to say you cannot be older than 12.. maybe 13.

I was kind of hoping he was just drunk when he posted this. He just kind of rambles on about a lot of different games. Im not really sure why this is even in the VG forum.

OK, so you like to go with the crowd, and aren't much on original thought or learning to play a game on your own.... that's OK, there's lots of folks who need to have their hand held, but others chose to go their own way.

I just started a week or so ago, started as a level 1 bard. The starting areas like 1-8 or whatever was pretty alone, but 8+ I would run into people doing same quests, grouped up and finished the quest and afterwards did more quests. So nightly now I'm not having a problem at all finding a group and as of this post I am 28 bard.

EQ2 was the same way. I started late in that game as well. Kingdom of sky had just been released and I made a level 1 Troubador and worked my way all the way to the top without to much trouble.

DDO I was late starting there. No problems there either in finding groups or starting one. Still sub to it and enjoy playing it.

BTW I played all those games casual due to school and work.

Good, it would be pretty stupid to pay for a game you hate eh?

I was very excited about Vanguard but chose not to play because of the arrogant, elitist players.

Oh yeah, and it was a huge flop. Hahahhaa

That was just plain odd.  To take the time to post that he'll never play a certain game.

I resubbed 2 days ago and I find the game to be anything but crap. Then again from your post we can clearly understand that you are omniscient so I must be wrong.

Did I ever in my post say that I was god. I don't think so, so take the stupid attitude and shelve it. I stated my opinion and that was coming from being in the beta if you want to call it that ( to me it was an alpha state game with a beta title).

Your implications that it will remain a flop and SOE's involvement will not change that implies that you can see into the future. You never once said "in my opinion", "there is a possibility", or "I believe...". Making a definite statement is hardly just an opinion.

In my opinion that's no way to talk to God, Niirnaeth.  I believe there is a possibility he will smite thee.

You first impressions are key and most people don't give games a second chance, if if they did i don't think Vanguard would have changed much anyways, it's like Planetside or SWG they never changed from a buggy unfinished launch, just got worse infact.

I completely disagree. There is quite a number of people coming back to Vanguard  right now. Why?  Simple, there isnt much out there in the mmo world that isnt either old and weve already played it through, or just low quality to start with. And with the amount of time sitting between now and the release of WAR and AoC, its a game I think a lot of people have, and will come back to. SOE for all their mistakes done a good job of changin the course of this trainwreck, and I think players attitudes here on the forums reflect that.

    I completly  agree with Arcken,

and to the OP and to anyone else out there playing WoW cos there is nothing else to play:

I was like you until i was luckly enough to try VG, yes the pop could be better, but i rather solo in a brand new game with well thought out classes, (which is what is done in WoW anyway more or less from 1 to 60 now before going into Outlands (even then there is still al lot of solo-ing)), then soloing in Wow where i have seen it all before, know all the instances by heart and more or less know all the spells and ablilites of all characters so well that the startegies are all the same and stale.
