Gold Sellers on general chat channels

Finally FSS gets the chat channels working better and then are pretty much made worthless with the spamming of gold sellers. I guess this is the reason to join a guild. Maybe FSS should allow people to create mods so this garbage can be controlled.

Well I suppose it was just a matter of time before gold sellers would get their hands into the game like they do with every other game. Though I see gold selling really pointless in this game. This game you can reach levels in normal mode pretty easy, it just takes a little time. Making money in this game is pretty easy too so I don't see how people would actually see the need to buy gold. My summoner is level 32 with 100k and the only thing I buy is health injectors,prds,analyzers. All my armor has been either crafted and simply by just playing the game.
The best solutuon will come from the players. If people keep buying gold, the gold sellers will stay. If people stop buying gold the gold sellers will go somewhere else to scam people. So I feel it is always up to the players. Stop buying gold and they will go away.
How about banning accounts that are gold farmers/sellers.

They have been aggressively banning gold spammers. Tiggs is in chat on a regular basis asking about spammers. I played all last night and all morning without seeing a single spammer. They've done a great job so far.
yeah, but they probably make enough money to buy another game for an account, they just need to create a spam blocker to end the spam once they start, somethign like if you say teh exact same thing 3 times in 5 minutes you are unable to use the general channels for a certain amount of time, its definatly possible, they just need to figure out how. also alekhin, most games have these gold spammers, SOE has actually been letting people do it in EQ2, although when i played EVE online i saw no one spamming gold sites.. it does get very annoying though. I also agree with viktor, you vote with your dollar, if people stop buying in game money and PL services then they will go away, but for some unknown reason people enjoy having other people play the game for them, i really dont get it, you gotta be an ubernewb to buy gold or a PL.

Gold farming/selling is here to stay.... game companies have no incentive to get rid of it...gold buyers are some of the most loyal subscribers.... many with more than one account....
But gold spamming of forums is incredibly annoying and should be discouraged at all cost....

Since this has become common practice with every online game that has some form of currency. From the days of UO till now every new game has had 100's if not 1000's of companies/websites for selling gold/money.
Most have multiple accounts if not more to sell thru. Im not even going to go into the chinese companies that have a single person playing dozens of accounts to farm gold and items.
It will always be part of things now that ebay and paypal and such are so mainstream.
They will ban them sure..but why when they are making so much money per account. Mind you with hellgate its a bit different being free.

way to edit my post like im the only one saying it lol, but whatever i stand by it. you must not know anything about simple economics, if everyone quits buying something then that product or service wont be along for much longer... im not saying its gonna happen, im just saying what would happen if all of the newbs decided to play the games themselves. its really just supply and demand if you think about it.

You want to get rid of gold farmers?... Or do you want to get rid of the spammers? I think being able to buy gold is a good thing. (But the NEED to buy gold is a symptom of a greater problem in the design of the game.)
Gold farmers suck, but if we didn't have RESOURCE farmers, many game economies with complex crafting systems would actually fail. The competetive act of gold farming results in unfriendly and ugly gameplay.
When I played UO and SWG, I used to sell gold/credits but I sold on a website and did not spam. In UO I had a lot of really good 'real estate' deals. In SWG I found an easy exploit and made tons of credits doing it. (I never FARMED for gold.)
When I played WoW I bought gold because I wanted uber gear so I could actually enjoy PvP, but didn't want the grind of getting it. I knew the gear would be soulbound and I'd never lose it, so I bought it with bought gold.

I think you're advertising gold selling in a forum thread that is against gold selling. It's amazing how huge peoples nut sacks are when you can't physically kick them in the jimmy for being irritating.
