For those of you who would like to, or are curious about doing so, i've found its possible to play Tabula Rasa with a controller, perfectly legally.
If you have XFire, you've probably seen those adverts for Switchblade? Well with a little customisation, it works almost perfectly.
I'm going to be checking out wether the 360 chatpad works too as soon as I can (as atm you still need your keyboard to type) Anyways, for those of you who are intrested, pelase check out my thread over on the Switchblade fourms HERE.
If you have any ideas to improve the way it handles, lemmie know please!
Thanks all, and have fun!

Is it possible to sticky this?
I have just ordered a logitech chillstream:

I hope it works
well then the original xbox controller will work too which actually has great programable software.
http://www.redcl0ud.com/xbcd.html is where u get the driver, u can change the function of any button and save it.
either get an xbox to usb adapter or get an xbox extension cable cut it, get usb cable and cut it and join the wires, they r all the same colors, you will have 1 left over from the xbox which is not used, tape it up and away you go.
I have done thins for many games and had 4 players on 1 pc all using xbox controllers.
Why not just drop over to walmart or your favorite computer shop and get a saitek gamepad or something similar?
I've been using one since beta... Works just fine. No need to go hunting adapter cables and such.
One of the reasons it's talked about with the Xbox 360 controllers, they're USB. And I'm not sure with all cases, but as I have heard, 360 controllers are plug and play with XP; XP recognizes them.
zomg im so buying an xbox 360 controller
Watching Fanbois drop their soap in a prison full of desperate men.
im not sure but you dont need 3rd party software to play with the 360 controller on the pc
there's that program you can download from the microsoft website
www.microsoft.com/hardware/gaming/DownloadResult.aspx
Awesome!
Going to get one now!
I can use my wireless xbox 360 controller for TR right now withthe wirelss gaming reciever and the controller and a little program call JoytoKey, its legal if anyone is worried. and u can do this with a wired xbox 360 controller. And this works with vista and xp, cause im using it on xp right now
Unfortunatly Deemtra, no.
Try as I might windows just won't recognise the chat pad. When I connect it and remove it windows makes the hardwear connected sound, but will not recognise it as an attached device, so I guess we still need to wait for drivers for it.
To those asking about a third party ap, I tried fruitlesly getting Windows to regonise the controller in TR, so dug around for a wrapper. Switchblade wsa the first I came across, but i'm sure others will work just as well too witha little configuration!
Enjoy! Take it to the Bane!
The 360 controller works best becuase it has like.. a bajillion buttons (12 actually, plus a 4 way directional pad that can have each direction assigned to a function)
Also I wasn't sure wether the game supported sticks and controllers out of the box. Switchblade is a wrapper so forces the controller to work with everything, even windows. But yeah, thanks for the input
You do for the 360 controller to work in alot of aps. You link to the drivers, rather than any kind of wrapper.
Unless MS support the controller at launch, theres no guarantee the 360 controller will work (Wich it didn't for me with TR).
Switchblade itself emulates mousekeyboard inputs via the controller. So its technically possible to run almost ANY program, even windows itself, via the controller.
I am going to get the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver anyways and skip the messenging pad until/if they make a driver for it. Thanks for the info
Probably the best post ever, playing with it right now.
