This story was recently released as Firmus Ixion Alliance, the oldest still-active alliance in EVE celebrated its third consecutive year of active operations.

    yep, congratulations to FIX

     

    although, only continously active is a little awry. Ushra'Khan has been active from the same date. I am sure there are a few other illiances still  around from the same time.

    Didn't say 'only', did say 'oldest'. There's one that's technically older as an IGA (in-game-alliance, term from prior to release of the first alliance mechanics), but they have 21 mostly inactive members.

     

    The reason Ushra'Khan and FIX were formed at the same date is that that date was the earliest an 'alliance' by that name could be formed in EVE. The mechanic wasn't instituted until that date.
