After 2+ Years of WoW, Need Help Choosing A New Game

krinkledkrinkled Member Posts: 9

Hi,

I need advice from people who have lots of experience with different MMOs or one of the MMOs on my possibility list.

A little about me:  The only MMO I have played is WoW.  I have a 70 Mage and 70 Warlock.  I have tons of experience in preTBC 40man raids and TBC 25man raids: MC, ZG, BWL, AQ40, AQ20, KARA, GRUUL, SSC, TK, ZA, all full cleared.

I am not a casual player, but not super hardcore either, I play 15-25 hours every 7 day week, and it usually varies in this range.

I want a game that rewards and preserves the value of player accomplishments, and respects raiding accomplishments.  WoW was just becoming too casual even for me.

I have a very high end gaming computer with a 8800GTX ULTRA video card, so there are no real techinical limits on which game I choose.

I have narrowed it down to this possibility list:

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes  (Is this game too hardcore for me or too buggy?)

Everquest 2 with ROK (This is what I am leaning towards, but need more information?)

Tabula Rasa (Some friends from my first raiding guild started TR and love it, but say it is very very different, should I try this for something new?)

Thank you very much for any help you can offer! :)

Also I was in the LOTR beta and thought it was awful, so that is definitely not on the list.

I am also considering age of conan but it is not out for like 6 months, I need a game now.

Well it seems you're looking for raiding so you can scrub VGas it has literaly only one or two raids right now. TR doesn't really do raiding either (thank god!) so that leaves you with EQ2, I'm not sure about it since I've not played it but I believe it's got plenty of raiding.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

i think you'll find EQ2 to be very similar to WoW and would recommend maybe picking up Tabula Rasa for a play style change until AoC comes out.
