There is a website that you can check your system requirements to see if a game will run.
Great for new people not knowing what there system will run.
Also loads of commercial games do have trials so you can see if a game will run. Then just use the SystemRequirementsLab.com link at the bottom of this post to check you have enough room and memory. As for free games there is loads listed in this thread mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/15858. Hope this helps you
Never used it myself but seen it posted a few times.

If you're running Windows XP or Vista, you can get your system's general information by rightclicking on "My Computer" or "Computer" on the desktop/start menu and then choosing "properties". I've not had a lot of success with many of the free mmorpg's on my laptop (it's a year old), however.. I've ran City of Heroes/Villians, Everquest 2, Lord of The Rings Online, and World of Warcraft all without any problems on mine.
I am not sure if he is on about RAM or HDD Space
But as MortisRex said lots of game run on old laptops WoW runs on pretty much anything these days but it will be down to what your laptop has inside. Best way is to use that site and post up anything that do not meet the requirements then people maybe able to help you more.

That's a good point, I didn't think about HDD space.
PistolKiss, if you need to find out how much space you have on your hard drive (and this is for window's based OS, have no idea about Mac's or Linux), then left click on the "Computer" or "My Computer" option, then you should see drives with various letters. Typically, "C:" is your main drive. You can right click it and select "properties" and it will tell you how much space you have on it. You might not even need to select properties to see how much space you have.
perfect world is a free to play game, and it's about the best you'll find right now.
the malaysian (international) version is in english.

Thank you every one for your time. I guess saying that im running vista would have helped. So well such is life. I have found out that I have 2038mb's of memory. The only things I have dowloaded are aim and firefox.

i honestly don't think system requirements are going to be an issue since it seems to be a brand new machine and you have a decent amount of memory in it, and most free mmos have fairly light requirements. i doubt drive space will be an issues either.
.. get back into what kind of game you're looking for. so far you said "free fantasy", anything else you'd like from/in your game ?
here's a suggestion i saw before if you haven't played many/any mmos. get a free trial for world of warcraft or everquest 2, play it for the trial period and let us know what you did or did not like about it and from there we can prolly find a game to suit what you're looking for.

If you are running Vista you should be ok to run anything at the moment
If you are ever in doubt before you pay money for a game just check on the link I posted and you should be fine.
Thank you
