    I don't have anything that would compare to anyone else on an MMORPG, but on UT2k3/4 (can't remember which one) I got the announcer to say "Holy Shit!", I can't remember exactly how many kills in a row I got but he says it after 8 kills in a row and keeps saying it for every other kill in a row.

    1 kill = Nothing

    2 = Double Kill!

    3 = Multi Kill!

    4 = Mega Kill

    5 = Ultra Kill!

    6 = MONSTER KILL!

    7 = Ludicrous Kill!

    8 = HOLY SHIT!!

    9 = HOLY SHIT!!

    And so on.

    In AC1, I routinely took on 3-5 people at once and won.  I miss that game's PvP more than anything in any other game I've played.

    It was a skill/attribute-based PvP where gear didn't really matter that much in the early days.  A mage wearing armor fighting a mage wearing armor didn't mean anything.  It came down to how you built your character and how well you could dodge.  I had been taught the casts by some of the top PvPers on the server, so when I finally reached a level close to what the majority of the PKers were, I was able to hold my own and consistently win against groups of people.  Granted, if they had more than one melee in their group it became almost impossible just because you couldn't slide anymore without running into people.  But against a group of mages/archers, and even a melee in there, I came out victorious more than not.

    My highest for MMOs would be 4 in UO and 6 in SB.

    Latest FPS was 9 in Quake Wars, the other team were too close to eachother and one of them tripped my mines.  The ones that didn't die got finished off with a nicely timed grenade and my shotgun .

    When it comes to more skilled players and not just some pub, I played Tribes2 6v6 arena competitively.  It was the Envy map it was tied up and whoever one the round one the map.  I was off to the top right, mid-aired this guy and finished him up with the chaingun.  Next thing I know, my team's dead and they still got 4 players left.   I start flying back to use my last inventory to rearm/heal and I start getting nade spammed.  So I flew back to their base instead, caught 2 guys stuck using the inventory with my grenade launcher, then went through the tunnel into the mid section.  Flew up top picked up some ammo real quick and then went to find the other two.  I see them, spam a few grenades, damage them a little bit, so they start nading me back.  I fly up and they dual CG whore me, I pull my chaingun out and rip one guy apart, run out of CG ammo, almost dead, and I sitll got the other guy chainguning me, figured I was gonna die, shot a random disk, and luckily got him with the MidAir.   Haha that was the wildest I ever heard on our teamspeak.  Everyone was shouting come on man!!!! throughout the entire ordeal, and at the end everyone's laughing and saying stuff like "HAHA I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT HAPPENED!"

    This really depends on the game. I voted 4+ because in mmofps games you can get lucky and go on a 10 kill killing spree, but then in mmorpg's where everything is more turned based and lower levels can still do lots of damage its hard to kill just one player at times. (Voted 4+ on account that I have done a PvP mmofps where I won; 25 kills with 0 deaths.); (In mmorpg's once in Eternal Lands I killed 2 people trying to gank me, the turned around and got killed) Ahh.. The pleasures of PvP.

    my best (altough cheap) is 8 w/ well placed perfectly timed suicide jump w/ a 9L0 warlock on DAoC (prenerf).  Actually involving skill though, I took out 6 with a Darkcarver runie 3 of which were very good players.  Everything just went right for me and playing a 10L5 runie doesn't hurt.   I've watched guys w/ the right class match fight and take out around 10  before.

    11 kills on my full spec dark rm.  a bit of aoe and mostly hard nukes. obviously, I had good help chopping those down from peers during.

    I just hung outside running behind a group that had a skald, I grouped only with my 5 endurance shammy for runie speed + perma end  = skald speed.  Fight begins, I as a Kobold, would be visually shielded by my troll (or were they ogres? its been 3 years) shammy, disband and raped the exp in.

    4 players ambushing and attacking a single player, if they are all around the same level/power it's not ganking, it's simply being ambushed/attacked by a group.

    I like that definition I must say I agree with that

    To reiterate what several others have already stated, it really depends on the game. For example, SWG in its pre-CU/pre-NGE days was a great game, but the group TEF factor concerning Bounty Hunter/Jedi PvP was a mess. As a bounty hunter pre-CU, I recall the Jedi always clinging together in groups of 20; this made it tough to root out the pansies, and so I rarely managed to engage in a true 1 on 1 battle. Sometimes it would happen, but not often enough. Then, as luck would have it, I created a Jedi and the rules were changed again. Now I could be attacked by a group of four bounty hunters, but no one in my group could aid me thanks to the new PvP rules, so to make my point, the term "gank" is situational. I feel that when your allies are standing right next to you but can do nothing except watch you get killed by a group of multiple people who could easily present a serious threat even in a one on one battle, this can be termed as "ganking".  There should be no rules in PvP about numbers, in my opinion; I want to feel a sense of "dread" when attacking someone from a large guild because I realize that this person will most likely be able to call a large group of friends in order to hunt me down. Is this masochistic? No, this gives me an adrenaline rush. But if someone attacks me when I'm with a group of allies, they should suffer the consequences as well. The uncertainty of open PvP is a blast.

    In WoW I've killed two people at once who were my level. In SWG I killed several people with a commando back when it was an awesome class. In Battlefront 2 I've killed four people at once. But I prefer FPS games when it comes to PvP.

    Also, again, I think that the OP's question is a bit tough to accurately answer, since, as I said, different games call for different rules, which translates to different situations, obviously. If I kill five people in a game where any idiot can kill five people, is that truly something to brag about? ...No. Now, if I kill five people in a game where the average person can only kill one player, is this something to brag about? Let's just leave it at that.
