yeah but you can have a job and a girlfriend playing games 6 hrs a day it has nothing to do with it. She may break up with you later cause you play games to much but getting a girlfriend is not that hard lol A job you can get a crap job like mcdonalds and afford games moot points ;-: my point though is if you play game more than 6 hrs a day you are grinding, wether you rplaying lineage 2, or eve online.
I have found this to be true (in most newer MMORPGs) only after you hit level-cap. Before that, the games are pretty much Questing, either for exp or for mats.
After level-cap, then the Grind sets in.
Older games such as EQ1 and AO have Grind built in from lower levels on up.
I have played many, many six to eight our sessions and have never 'Ground' a second of that time. And since I do not Grind for Gold, Gear, or Rep . . .
Once a game runs out of 'new' content for me, I move on.
Back when I played AC1 (when I was 16 or 17) I played for around 6 to 8 hours a day.. doing nothing but PvPing. Wasn't a grind at all, because unlike WoW's PvP, you didn't have to get kills to get things like armor. It was just fun.
Whats the point of OP? Makes absolutely no sense. Even if you replace the word games with MMORPGs it still makes zero sense. Does it matter if you grind 6 hours a day or 2 hours a day? What exactly is grinding some kid playing CS whole day or someone caught up in a nice console game?
Someone got pwned by some kid in epic gear and trying to ease his heart?
Subscribtions: EVE, SWTOR WOW, WAR, DDO, VG, AOC, COV, FFXI, GW, RFO, Aion +plenty of F2P, betas, trials
Female Dwarf player: WOW, VG, WAR, DDO . Due to the recent economic crisis and spending cuts the light at the end of the tunnel was turned off. Sincerely, God.
Sometimes i just wana relax and get everything off me, be it work or watever and i really just grap a few bottles of beer ( quite alot actually), sit down in front of my pc, listen to tons of music that i have, and grind away!
Dont wana have any interaction with anybody for a day or two... yap, that's when the 6 hours comes in...
I disagree. Although there are different definitions for "grind" I prefer to use
MMORPG GRINDING: The act of a repetative, often undesirable task to further gain status, power, or progression within a game.
Just because your playing a game for > 6 hours doesnt mean that you are doing a single repetative task during that time, nor does it mean that you are not having fun.
However, I honestly believe that players should raw the line at 4 hours and then quit.
