Im poor and i like mmo's which sucks but there are a few things i want
Decent graphics (nothing worse than AO)
Not an asian mmo ( I never played one I liked)
Free!!
Decent Community
Not 100% grind

There's no excuse for having no money. If you're a kid, get pocket money by mowing lawns, hanging washing out, painting fences etc.
If you're over 18 or a student, get a part time weekend job at a fast food place, they pay crap but atleast it's money. You'll have to save up though. If you're over 18 and not a student, get a job. If you have no qualifications go to school and learn, or be a labourer, a gyprock carter pays alright in Australia ($100 / day approx. $16.50ish an hour) and in the USA they do max board length as 4 meters, in Aus it's max as 6 meters, so you are seriously lucky to do that in the USA. It's a hard job but you'll toughen up quickly.
As for a free MMO, I took a look at Last Chaos and it seems alright at first glance, pretty good looking, not sure about the grind aspect though.
Pirates of the burning sea is in open beta, it sucks as it is a grind. But give it a go anyway.
Well, PotBS is free while in beta, but it's NOT free after release, so why recommend it? I personally didn't like PotBS for multiple reasons, but grinding really wasn't one of them. You'll have to try it for yourself, but bear in mind that it's just as costly as any of the other P2P games in existence. Let's remember that the OP is looking for a FREE MMORPG, and who gives a da*n as to why he/she doesn't have the money to pay a subscription fee? So can we stay on topic and suggest games?
Anyway, the OP DOES realize that the majority of F2P games are Asian, right? There are a few that aren't, and I refuse to speak for a game I haven't played, so I can only recommend Mythos (by Flagship Studios) or Dungeon Runners (by NCSoft). These are both hack and slash games that are fast paced, which translates to not being "grind-heavy" games--at least, not from my perspective. They are decent games, although they aren't my first choice. Personally, my favorite free MMORPG is Perfect World, which just happens to be Asian... It's a quest based game, however. But if the OP insists upon avoiding Asian games, I would still recommend the above titles. Also, Guild Wars is free to play after the initial purchase. GW is a top notch game, even if it isn't a hardcore MMORPG. Pirates of the Caribbean Online isn't Asian and doesn't require a subscription fee either, but it's a childish game to say the least, which is why I can't really recommend it. I would suggest researching each of the MMORPGs I mentioned through their respective websites.
