Sure sounds nice to hear how you all are excited about the trinity patch. To bad for many of us the  trinity patch turned out to be nightmare. All i got out of the patch was a error message and a black screan.

Even though i cant boot my comupter up cause of the latest patch atleast i can hear about how great it looks from the few players that actually didnt loose their operating system.

Oh, you didn't lose your operating system. You lost one little file. Rest of your data's fine, and fixing the problem doesn't even take that long.

Okay, replacing it is a bit of a pain, but it's nowhere near the usual 'ohgod, I messed up my XP reinstallboot', that sometimes happen. :)

And On Topic, yeah, it's new skins, but they did retouch the models as well, quite heavily infact. The Domi has several differences in the new model, including what looks to be generally a lot higher poly budget. They also did several in-client optimizations and implemented a new graphics engine. HDR and bloom are just two examples that were flat-out impossible using the old engine.

And using normalmapping and texture channels to get surface details that are too small to model into the mesh is just smart, not 'omg they ripped us off'-dumb. Nice sword texture/model though, demonstrates the use of texture mapping very well.

On other upgrades, they added three whole classes of t2 ships (EW frigates, Black Ops Battleships and Marauder-class Battleships) and a lot of other juicy stuff. Content-wise, the effects of this upgrade are going to be felt for a long, long time.

LOL..  well as it is a FREE update I do not see how anyone can or should fill ripped off.    I was simply expecting..  well i don't know what exactly but it was not simply reskinning with techniques I was using 10 years ago. But then again I also have been 3d modeling for 21 years so I may just have higher expectations.

I am looking forward to flying around and checking out all the new stuff for the remander of the trial.  So get out there and strut your stuff PPL.

Unless you can show where every person playing EvE who downloaded the patch is a computer expert, has more than 1 computer to know where the problem came from by reading the foums, and had absolutely no more trouble than just fixing 1 simple little file, get over the elitist attitude. All the fanbois sticking up for CCP and telling players it's the players fault, not CCPs', on their forum, here, and everywhere else need to stfu.

This patch did cost people data, files, and in some cases their operating systems ( like people who have no technical knowledge and no friends with that knowledge either).

CCP dropped a turd, and they will end up paying for it. And no, their little EULA won't protect them in court from responsibility, especially in a U.S. court against a class action lawsuit (which many have been talking about).

Sad that the first real test of an EULAs' legality and effectiveness will most definitely be shot down if brought into court, since this will make it harder for mmo devs to protect their games from gold sellers and botter/hackers by using their EULA as a legal document. Score one more for CCP.
