very slow game on the brink of boring

could it be the w8 from closed beta and delay in getting open beta up and running.

this game is very slow, as most xp comes from quests, elf priest wasnt that good so i went and created a ware fox little better but now at lvl 41 quests have gone and dryed up and so has the game, im suprised i made it that far TBH.

world map and its size keeps me playing hopeing something exciteing is gonna happen but (yawn) this is slow, even skill and attack system is slow kind of a game you can play and watch TV at the same time, and the grass texture is well over used kinda lazy design just like the lazy gameplay.

there is lots of stuff in the game packed with nice touches but it needs a kick up the arris to get things moving, laggy ? a little at times but skill casting spell and general gameplay is slow. great game if u dont wanna thing about what you are doing. maybe a little late in a busy market.

It is still in Beta, a lot can change before release so I wouldn't give up hope just yet. Maybe they just haven't added a lot of the 40+ content yet. Also you have to remember that even though this game looks very Western it is still an Asian game underneath and typically they tend to get a bit grindy in the higher levels.

As far as I understand, this game is supposed to be quest based, which means most of the xp comes from solving the quests, not from countless hours of grinding. I played more games with the same features and I can tell "Perfect World" is doing it wrong. Usually in such games you can still get decent xp from mobs, but you level way faster by getting the quests' xp. However, in PW solving a quest is a matter of leveling or stagnating for ages at the same lvl; they're not optional, they're the only way to lvl unless you're some sort of weird masochist that gets his kicks from killing the same mobs for days at lvl 15.

The Problem is, skills are a very bad joke in this game: not only the system is quite complicated as it is, forcing you to run to your master the moment you level up, but they decided to add that "awesome" delay between the moment you click a mob and the moment your toon finally decided to attack, making the usage of skills a very dangerous thing to do while in battle, because you are damaged while waiting for the skill to charge. Unless you have a skill raised enough to produce serious damage, it's pointless to fight using skills (at least as warrior) because you get more dmg than attacking with normal melee attack.
