Auran CEO declared that the core developer team will stay for the improvements in Fury. Fury has a good path ahead and they are already introducing BIG changes for 14th December, and next week ANOTHER BIG changes are going to be announced.
So I fail to understand your joy and happiness here... I pity on people who come here and bash a very good PURE PvP game if they claim that they love PvP. Because of you people pure PvP games will not be as successful as mainstream games. That's a fact. Do not expect any development of any kind of major PvP games because they will rot with players like you. If you are such a person, do yourselves and others a favor, and play carebear PvE games, stay the hell away from PvP games.

Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either.
Osbourne Cox: You are part of a league of morons. Oh, yes. You see you're one of the morons I've been fighting my whole life. But guess what. Today, I win.

Its a horrible pure PVP game. Period. Theres no point in fighting... its just like counter-strike with fantasy rpg elements. You are not fighting to protect your lands... its just a bland game.

Joy and happiness? It's a news article. One that's fairly pertinent to the game at that.
Do you even speak English?
This game failed because it was poorly designed, and not very fun. It wasn't some secret cabal of PvE-ers, no matter how much you try to delude yourself otherwise.
I think Fury's major problem was bad timing and execution (read quality of end product). If you are releasing the game in same timeframe as COD4, Orange Box , Gears of War you've got to deliver something special, if not marke will vote with dollars. Though damage was done, i hope Auran learnt their lesson and get more ppl into Fury.
Personally for me it was lag and pifull fps that stoped me from buying this game, I think i will stay with GW.

/agree with coldmeat.... but I do hate to see when a game goes belly up...
Theres no point in fighting... its just like counter-strike with fantasy rpg elements. You are not fighting to protect your lands... its just a bland game.
lol. This says a lot about what type of game you play.
seriously, you shouldn't even be trying to play a pure pvp game if you need a la la story to keep you interested.
If fighting other players rather than bots to you is boring, you obviously don't like pvp.
Yeh and to the ignorant thread starter and Zorvan, this game is obviously too hard fo you to play.
I hear they just released a 'my little ponies' mmorpg. Try that.
The game is far from over.
Ive never used this word before but man you are the ultimate fanboi huh?
WTH are you talking about a lalala story I'm pretty damn sure he was saying that there need to be an actual reason to pvp.
and why should you need a bott at all to lvl/advance. Why can't the game just award me for pvping and make me advance/rp. Like Me killing you over and over so that you can't use the resources that you need to make an armor suit.
What your not getting is that most pvp'er IMO want a world and resources to protect and fight over so yes you would need some type of lalala in there to keep me motivated.
Pure pvp with no alternate content is insane if I have nothing to fight for why the hell would I fight.
Any pvp game ever created that had no objective to fight over was a failure in my book.
If im just fighting you so that you can get me to 1/4 life die respawn and come back and gank me before i full up is crazy. Not to mention what would keep me interested in fighting if all we did was stand around till a match, fight for 5 mins one wins one looses and then we are back to hanging around waiting for the next match.
At least I can say even though I dont praise the pvp in WoW at least battles are for some minimal gain (even though honor points doesn't really cut what im talking about here). And at the very least can go on for some time. Av's up to 2 hours ive even seen WSG go 1hour+. Not to mention the dynamic of team play.
I wont lie but I haven't even played Fury and the main reason is that when I dont want to pvp sometimes I actually like having another choice. Crafting/marketing/and more otherwise you WILL get bored.
Thats typically why people want FFApvp due to the fact that it drives the rest.
Expl.. I go get ganked loose my gear need more go to a crafter (who doesn't like pvp) he makes me a new suit of pawn you and I'm back in the mix all the while creating community and social activity's. That is an RPG.
In my Opinion MMORPG's are no longer being Developed we are now down to MMO'S and the more crap that comes out the more we are moving to MO's (multi-player online) seeing as everyone is about the gear and themselves. They have just turned into a place to show how much better loot you have on and how pimp you look.
Not much different then a chat room really. Only difference is in the chat room people are talking about thier cars and houses and whatever they may own in RL. And in the game they are colorful pixels.

My guess is that a lot of people would not be so full of glee if it was not for the attitude of pvp kids, like your last comment: "and play carebear PvE games". Right there you have it, if you had just told everyone to get the hell away from a game you enjoy instead of trying to insult people with the tiresome "carebear" I bet you would get much more sympathy and less glee.
But hey, I hope you have fun, I hate it when games die. Just because I don't like a game I can still see why others like them.
We want to make the best competitive game out there, and competition doesnt just mean PVP. PVE can be extremely competitive, and I could make a very strong argument that the uber guilds trying to get world firsts at new WOW content are far more competitive than a lot of the name brand Counterstrike teams. The key difference is Direct competition versus Indirect competition and in Fury we want to have both.
Awww. Carebears.

By the by, one can enjoy PvP, and still maintain objectivity. Fellating a game at every turn, and the developers, simply because it's PvP does no one any good.

I never heard of this game until two weeks ago.
And I didn't even know it has been released!
I think thats the biggest problem with this game, noone ever heard of it!
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
Believe it or not, a lot of players who played from early stages of alpha on, including myself enjoyed the game. But when they made some significant changes to the build, within 1 month there was a steady flow of testers leading out the door.
The clan I was in had maybe around 15 players and we all jumped on the game during testing times, roughly 2 weeks after that major build change i believe in august, it steadily declined, down to maybe 6 players on from clan during peak hours. It was midly entertaining to watch testers flee in droves. That unbalanced the matchmaker system and in turn started gankfests.
Like others I hate to see games fail, specially pvp games, but I would have to agree that the main problems were
1. stability i.e. crashes, requirements (most in beta saw these problems up to just before release)
2. Learning Curve
3. The big one: Persistant worlds. Some will say the ladders are the "persistant worlds" but they really are just statiistics of who owned who. In short PVE or something similar like resource control.
4. The Really Big one: release date early to try and get the game out before the heavy hitters come out, like for instance COD TF2 UT3 etc.
im certainly not gonna bash clans that are exceptional at the game, perhaps it is their style of game. Its the matchmaker that creates the match and with a small player base it cant do the job it needs to. During peak test times with just 1 server running, We would have hundreds of players, and usually 8 or more of all match types running with plenty in queue waiting to square off against other opponents. Scary part is the matchmaker had to be reset during beta often as it error'd out.
they shoulda listened to the playerbase more (they did listen quite a bit mind ya) but they couldnt get all the things done that were complained about alot.
As I posted on the fury boards during this losing player phase, Beta testing is rapidly becoming an early showcase/decisionmaking thing for players. should I test and see if I will like the game, and the publics reaction to it (those that were able to or knew about it)

They want our monthly subscription money yet they outsource the jobs to China and anywhere else they can find cheap labor. Pathetic.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

Yet another reason this game failed. This is the type of person no one wants to be associated with. The entire Fury community is like this.
