yea yea yea lets hope the 7 years (- 2 or 3 of that for the redoing of graphics and engine ) pays off if not no loss to me at least XD
Well there was also "payment involved" with that "BitBoys" thing there too.. creating graphics cards requires some money too.. and you have to admit the whole story sounds really similar....
promises...delays......rinse and repeat a few times... then finally close up shop after someone buys you out..
The OP is also known as SLI2000 (A known hater that creates multiple accounts) I've reported the thread so you can expect it deleted in a few hours, With these kind of topics it's best just to not reply atall, as it gives the hater(S) in question pleasure.
Although I've considered a payed possibility for constant hating, I've narrowed it down to the reason that he/she simply has nothing better to do.
So as usual guys, Just leave this guy alone (He creates multiple account to avoid bans, but i've reported his IP and his used account previously to MMORPG.com, hoping for an IP ban)
Thanks guys
I am tired of the dramatics that you people show everytime someone points out the inadequacies and half-truths that the Devs have become known for. The game is dying without ever being released and has shown no progress for quite awhile other than the say-so of a few individual people, who most people don't even know of.
actully they have told us but youg et pissy because YOU dont ever believe them so whys hould they tell us shit cause they just get called liers anyways
who? lol
The Darkfall Online devs in interviews have said they are content on releasing little to no information as their fans go on faith and don't need proof. Hey, as long as their bankers go on faith as well, then who are we to complain. IMHO, they have someone on that team who either got left a lot of money from a loved one or won a lottery and are carrying Darkfall Online. As long as the person who is footing the bill for Darkfall Online is happy, who are we to complain? Watch them keep the game private and by invitation only. That would be a kicker to all of us watching this game for years.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
Hey they're Greek, don't they have a lot of billionaires there? Anywho, I've been following DFO for a good many years now and I'm pretty certain that there is a game there. I make no comment on the quality of that game, but I wouldn't call it vaporware especially since fans have played builds of it.
I'm sure it will come out eventually, and plop when it does. Why you guys are in such a hurry to see this small-time half-assed effort at an MMO fail is beyond me.

Maybe because they've dragged everyone along for almost a decade with empty promises?
I believe you don't understand what the term Vaporware means. Darkfall Online can very much be real and people can be beta testing right now. That doesn't mean the game isn't Vaporware.
You can read the definition of vaporware from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
Vaporware is a software or hardware product which is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge, either with or without a protracted development cycle. The term implies unwarranted optimism, or sometimes even deception; that is, it may imply that the announcer knows that product development is in too early a stage to support responsible statements about its completion date, feature set, or even feasibility.

I don't think it deals with "hatred" but more with "entertainement" ( it is my case ) and I thank you for that.
What I will say when beta starts : nice, we are in AD 2019 and I can play with a 2001 PC config , nice saving money wise.

I believe you don't fully understand how that term has been used. Many times people used it as term which was equivalent to "does not exist" and it is probably still used in that way. Also did you know that AoC would also fall under that category seeing as their whole 2 year push back.

7 years at most. That really isn't almost a decade. Of course you would want to make it seem that way.

Q, I almost agree with you. The big difference is that AoC has seen the light of day. AoC has been played by 1,000s of fans at many different major gaming conventions and currently has many thousands of beta testers in game. Matter of fact, I played AoC in Atlanta during DragonCon. Now, compare that to Darkfall Online and we may have had a whole 2 known people not associated with Darkfall Online devs that claim to have seen Darkfall Online in action. That is a big difference. Saying that, I do believe vaporware applies to Darkfall and not to AoC. Saying that, both could easily fail to get to launch but as of right now, the odds of actually launching are in AoC's favor by about 2,500 to 1.

I didn't say that its not likely to come out but the fact that it too falls under that category since the fact it has nothing to do with how many people play it or not. Of course its track record is nothing surprising or new in this industry since it is normal to have delays and push-backs.
I'm sick of hearing vaporware, but I must admit it certainly doesn't look good at this point. Thank God for AoC and WAR that will hopefully release in 2008. That will give us some decent MMOs that will hopefully end the WoW era.
Really although it does look bad after 7 years (7 years ago the idea came out, 4 years ago they started, 2 years ago they scratched everything and restarted, no they're updating and tweaking shizzz). The amount of employees they had working on the game compared to how much they want to accomplish has to count for something.
I mean yeah im not exactly head over heels for it, the idea i am, but the game itself i will love if it comes out but im not going to just sit like a puppy and wait for it to come into my lap.
Keep in mind that with the amount of effort that is needed to make good quality products is pretty ambiguous and not to mention since this isnt jus tsome WoW clone that you can jus tcopy paste edit, its going to be awhile. And if this does end up coming out and meeting our expectation........i hope i dont see you there, cause i want to soak up all the fun for myself.
Come to think of it this might actually be a good idea. Vote it vaporware and the dev's might hink GOD DAMNIT. And just release a lonnng term beta, not to mention how much quicker htey could get work done with alot of feed back. Got my vote in.
actulyl 4 uyears ago they scratched everything or updated whatever XD
Oh so now it's 2 years ago they restarted? I thought it was always 4 years ago they restarted.. Funny how it's just getting less and less with every new fanboy.

Time may vary in fonction of the point of view of the viewer but Einstein explained it better than I do OR the devs are using a Flux Capactor.
Hah, trolls...
What do you guys wake up and think, "What shall I do today? perhaps taking a few more stabs at a computer game that I have no interest in on a message board..."
For fucks sake people, get a life!
Well of course not, that would imply that its completely random rather a well planned and orchestrated effort.
Don't you know, DF Trolls get together at least once a month at strategy meetings, and then there's the weekly video conference sessions and even a daily call network to push out late breaking trolling orders.
Let's give them more credit than to think its strictly some folks who are a personal vendetta or who just enjoying making conversation about a game.
