Ive played it, was a bit skiptical at first but its a awesome game for what it is. The combat is fun and its cool how you can build large armies and take over castles and empires. Graphics arnt bad at all and theres plenty of cool mods. I recommend trying it. I wasnt disapointed. Nothing like riding your horse into a 20+ group of archers with your lance causing all types of damage.

Best game ever.   I actually have quit playing MMO's all together because of this game.   This games combat and massive battles cannot be beat.    It just plain rocks.

I think this game gets kinda repetetive fast.. and repetetive is boring.

Reason I tried the demo is to get a taste of what DFO might be like.. and reason I bought it is cos demo is too little hehe.

Might of been more fun if I could get the mods working :/ that star wars mod looked pretty cool.

I played it and it's pretty fun for a bit, but it gets boring pretty fast. Probably because it's quite repetitive like the above poster said.

There's also some lack of a goal in the game. I just ran around killing horsmen randomly a bit without really knowing what to do, shrug.

is there a mod to play this online and replace those AI's with HI's?

thats would be awesomesauce. i watched videos and it looks amazingly well done but definately would get bored just competeing with the computer. thats not competition, its repetition.

The game is not all about combat.  The game is whatever you make of it.   It is a sandbox game.   It doesn't hold your hand and say pic a class and then tell you to do this or to do that or go here or go there.   There are quest in the game and goals you can make for yourself like conquering all of Calradia, or helping another faction control Calradia or you can help dethrone one of the kings and put another in its place.   You can be a trader in game.   You can be a bandit.  You can be whatever you see your character to be.

As for the statement regarding repetitiveness...OMG...what game are you playing.   No two battles in M&B are the same - ever.    Also...there are many ways to kill your enemy and it isn't like an MMO where you click on your target, and start spamming two or three hotkeys.   M&B has far better combat than any MMO right now on the market.   You actually have to hit your target with an arrow or your sword or spear or whatever.   You can target specific parts of the body even, like arms, legs, head, chest.   No MMO does that - none.

With the mods coming out for it, and their ability to improve game play, AI, and every thing else - no MMO can compete with that.

What game are you guys playing?  Or should I say what game aren't you guys playing?

I thought M&B combat was aweful, slow, clunky, your character belabours every move, the only good thing is the horses.

I just do not think melee combat works well for FPS style controls, I have yet to encounter a game that has done it well and this game is no exception.

Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit

I'm a mod on the taleworlds site if that gives me any credibility. Basically, the team doesn't have the resources to have some sort of evil marketing campaign like that-- its only a small team of four or five guys and they're all focused on improving the game itself. Futhermore, even if they had the resources, there's no reason for them to even worry about marketing. The game's spread by word of mouth like wildfire.

Now, about your main concern, there was a player, not anyone related directly to the development, that posted a topic requesting for people to go off and essentially market the game for the devs. The idea got shot down pretty fast, as people know that'd just give the community a worse ( ;) ) reputation. I have a slight feeling that the post also got locked at some point because 1) it was a crap idea from the start, 2) quickly people realized the unsound nature of the suggestion and 3) flamers :O

The highlighted red part makes me really sad.(you are right people seem to be that way) but in my opinion gamers should not be that way, why can't people be GAMERS, you know people who enjoy games and help promote the game they enjoy, I never would have thought that especially in a game genre like MMORPG that is build by the community that such a idea get's shot down.

It really makes me lose faith in the online community as they seem to totally disregard this genre's strenght, which is getting weaker and weaker by the day.

And I am most amazed by people who consider it to be viral marketeers why can't people share a fun experiance with a game or even tell others to perhaps try a game without them working for the game company.

Anyway on topic, gonna try the game once more, have done so but spend to little time to truly experiance it.

I really don't know what game you guysare playing.   Your character moves fine.   Sure you're not going to be swinging you sword or shooting your bow really well when you first start a game but as your character learns the weapons and stuff things get smoother, faster and more acurate.

Oh and I am not a viral marketer for Taleworlds or thei publisher.  It just so happens I truly love the game and will talk about it every chance I get because I feel it is deserving of it.
