Plz dont flame me or anything...im interested in play asherons call..but i wanted to know which is better..1...or 2..perhaps a list of pros/cons?...ty^^
As long as you don't care about graphics, I would almost gaurantee if you spend the time leveling up to at least 80ish in AC1 you will have a lot more fun than you would ever have in AC2. You will have to get through the xp grind in AC1 though, most players are a high level because the game is so old. And since the average player is such a high level most of the content is made for higher levels, so newbies don't have as much to do and the stuff there is to do as a newbie isn't that exciting and great.
It really depends on the time you want to put in it. Both games I doubt will have you instantly addicted. If you have time to invest and don't mind asking for help and being lost definetely go with AC1. Just make sure to get help from message boards, websites, and players in game to help you level up faster and guide you through the beginning. There is more depth in AC1 and it isn't as newbie friendly. That being said I'm not going to say AC2 is a bad game, it's a lot easier to pick up than AC1. However in the long AC1 pays off.
The fact is AC1 has four times the amount of players than AC2 and I think that pretty much speaks for itself. Also AC1 recently added another server/world while AC2 condensed it's original 6 main servers/worlds down to 2 because the player populations were so low.
I, myself, am more of a fan of ac2. I'm not going to say that ac1 is worse than ac2 cause I really don't know. I did try ac1 but didn't really stick with it that long, thus why I don't think I can give an honest comparison. I've been with ac2 since release and have watched as the devs made this game from okay to really good. Definately has kept me hooked over other MMORPGs, like FFXI and SWG.
I do believe that ac2 is easier to jump into. But the 15 day free trial is always available so I say at least try out ac2 and see what you think. If you don't like it you can still try ac1 and wouldn't have spent any money.
I haven't played AC1 in years, so I am not qualified to say too much about it. IF it is anything at all like I remember it, then comparing the two games is like comparing apples and shoes...
I have played AC2's free trial recently, and it was fun for me. I just jumped in, did some quests and vaults, got a few levels, and it was all pretty stress free. There's a serverwide chat channel that was a bit intimidating at first because it moves pretty fast with lots of people talking in game-specific jargon, but once I got used to it (and got chat windows sorted out), I thought it was a pretty cool feature of the game. I think if I were in a more hardcore player frame of mind, I might not have been as happy with it-- I would have wanted MORE. More of everything. Since I was just looking to kick around and have a little fun, I found it pretty satisfying.
On the other hand, if I had been in a more hardcore mode, I might have started poking around to find out what it is that hardcore AC2 players do. I thought the Kingdom vs. Kingdom thing sounded interesting, but I really didn't get into it deep enough to know what that's all about.
The most important thing, of course, is that there are bunnies that you can club to death.
