I've played both Dark Age of Camelot and World of Warcraft.
In DAoC I played on a normal server, meaning you couldn't get ganked and when high enough you could go to the PvP (RvR) zone.
In WoW I played on a PvP server where ganking was happening and battlegrounds and PvE raids where the thing to do when your done leveling.
I've played the trial of EQ2 and reached max level and enoyed it a lot, seems like a good solid, deep MMO.
My question is: when I start playing on a PvP server does it mean begin ganked all the time? And when you play on a PvE server is there any possibility to go PvP sometimes (arena's maybe)? if so, are there enough people doing that or is it almost dead?
Also what does the end-game content consist of in EQ2? (Played Lord of the Rings Online and the end-game there was boring as hell)

I really can't comment on EQ2 PVP server much, but from what I do know is that the level 10-19 zones can be a gankfest from all the twinks. Although the next patch which is coming soon is supposed to help eliminate the level locking twinks. So if everything goes according to plan the ganking shouldn't be as severe in that level range.

but yes aster level 10 i believe it is, you will get ganked ............... its a pvp server suck it up.
Also, I've read some things about character transfers. Can you always transfer a character (even from PvE <-> PvP servers) and is it for free?
There is one of these threads every day. Please use the search button. I cba to reply to another one.
