It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
but i am pretty clueless.
it looks like a simple operation, and i've been playing pc games forever, i have done basic upgrades to the shitty dell rig my folks gave me years ago, but it is finally crapping out. i can't play any new games without wanting to throw it out the window.
i've replaced ram sticks, and video cards, i think i have a pretty good idea how the whole thing works, it's just the new product info is so hard to understand. too many numbers, chipsets, dual and quad cores etc. intel, amd. i don't really understand what any of it means.
i want to build a pc that i can play games on for the next 7 years, i want to spend about a grand, maybe a little over, but i want to get the most "bang for my buck" so to speak. also i don't want to fuck up and buy incompatible parts and such. i figure there are probably alot of competent pc enthusitist on this forum, if i could get some advice that'd be great, maybe a list of products? just use laymens terms please, as i have no grasp of abbrevations and numbers and what they mean in computer products, i understand the basics of processor speed, RAM, and video cards but not much outside of that.
i'm just trying to give you a sense of my level of ignorance. i know more than the average person, but not as much as the mega pc guru. and i need to get started building. i'm signed up for betas that i probably couldn't play even if i got in.
thanks
