straight forward order or destruction poll

ok no messing about with why's and hows lets try and get a good number of votes on this
*edit* also the reason i am posting this, is because in the thread "order Vs destruction balance" it was suggested that someone open a new poll for this very question and no one did for a couple of days so i thought i would take the plunge

I want to play destruction but if every man & hes dog do the same ill role a goodie two shoes character.
You know, I've seen these sort of polls on every game that has a 'good' vs 'evil' theme. In every poll the 'evil' side wins in the polls by a nearly 2 to 1 margin but when launch occurs the opposite is actually what happens.
I think people like the idea of playing evil but when it actually comes time to actually play the tend to stick with their nature which in general for most people is good.
I also think it is likely due to the fact that only about 1% of the people who are going to play these games actually watch the forums before the game is released so the polls have a really poor sampling pool.

I think i'm going to play Order, because you got the dwarfs (my favorite). I looveee the engineer and the ironbreaker. To smash some Greenskins into the ground, but on the other side dark elves and Greenskins are cool too. I think it's to hard to make a desicion now!
I will start off Order, as I too have been seeing the number of those wanting to be chaos, I think guild wise, i would estimate there are 3-1 ratio of destruction to order. Going to the diffrent forums, and looking at guild reruitment, there are very few choices it seems for order for a usa player o.0
aye you never can tell pre release, but at 12 votes, its quite balanced. lets see if we can get it up to 100 votes and that should give a fairly good reprisentation of how it will balance out
there are also alot of ppl just playing the mmorpg´s without wathing any forum or anything.. so there is a big difference between facts , and polls on a mmorpg website.

I don't really think you can look at it from a good vs. evil standpoint.. other than the storyline where the "evil" side is invading..
There isn't anything in the game where you can do something "good or evil".. so I think it will end up like WoW.. Order will be overpopulated at the start.. then over time, destruction will either balance it out or completely dominate in the numbers game.
Fine with me. As long as I find a good guild in order and have a lot of destruction to kill, I'll be happy.
i am surprised at how balanced it is at nearly 30 votes, hopefully it will carry over to the game

All I see everywhere is people hoping/praying/balancing polls hoping that somehow when release day comes Order is the dominant side since everyone seems to want to be destruction + the underdog
I'll start out on the side of Order, but eventually will play on the other side as well.
I'd prefer a FFA PVP server like they had in DAOC where we could be a member of any side we chose...but that's not going to happen (at least for a while)

I actually started as Destruction being my choice then switched cause everywhere I looked it was Destro fever. However after most the classes being known ( White Lion being pretty much proven to be the last HE class ) I'm pretty comfortable playing Order now. Unless the scales are vastly tipped for Order I'm going to stick with my KotBS or White Lion.
I will most likely play one of each class. I'm thinking I'll start with Destruction->Chaos->Zealot
for now im going order but im waiting to final classes

i thought that there was going to be a huge discrepency in the favor of destruction, but after 50 votes its still looking quite balanced (a 10% swing either way aint too overpowering imho) keep em coming people

I think it's a bit more than 1%, but you're pretty much right on everything else.
In 1999, I may have agreed with you on that point.
I feel xray00 is pretty much right about this.
You can take as many pre-release polls as you choose, but only a small number of the people who will eventually play a MMORPG actually follow its development.
If I were to make a bet, I would say that Order will slightly outnumber Destruction post-release, regardless of what pre-release polls indicate.
And it won't be decided on "good vs. evil" but, instead, by "pretty vs. ugly."
The "attractive races" always enjoy a greater cosmetic appeal to the majority of players and eventually this factor will fully play out and you will see more "pretty people" than the not-so-attractive types.
My interpretation of this means that you will see fewest Greenskins and Dwarves compared to the Human and Elf races and that probably Empire Humans and High Elves will be favored in numbers since their Chaos and Dark Elf counterparts will most likely be considered somewhat less attractive.
Not all people pick by "looks"
