It is now in open beta for English version......quite good compared to other f2p mmorpg's

it's your traditional asian grind, tough most beautiful Asian grind Ive ever seen, I give it that.
Plus the aerial combat seems interesting.
Actually lvling isn't done through grinding as much as most asian mmo's. Its actually a pretty quest heavy mmo that gives you big chunks of xp per quest so if you hate the common asian grinder you might still like this game. Also you can use wasd instead of point and click if you like.

Perfect World and Sword of the New World are the 2 best F2P mmo´s out there atm.
And NO .. Its not an Asian Grind fest. Quest driven and not like any other Asian mmo´s.
Can people from Europe play this game ? I seen some posts about blocked IP's and need to use proxy and such ?
Well I guess PW is one of the most overlooked games, due to the fact that there still isnt a publisher named for american/europe (except the upcoming PW-MY EN International version - hosted in malaysia).
However Perfect World is the most successful game in China (its the WoW of the east)... this game has over 30million registered and over 500.000 concurrent users in taiwan, china, korea and vietnam alone. The storyline is build upon the myth of pangu... thats also why you can jump higher than normal (its like the films tiger & dragon) - you get used to it pretty fast and it saves a lot of time hehe.
I for one can say that it is an really well made and awesome game because it combines the great elements of L2 (open pvp, sieges, etc.), with the quest/item diversity of WoW and much more.
So the basics are:
- 3 races / 6 classes
- you can use WASD control as well as point/click.
- most complex character customisation you have ever seen. You have complete freedom control on it. You can even import pictures to try to reasemble them with the editor.
- common harvesting and crafting system (much like wow but with chance to better and even rare crafts)
- possiblity for travel and combat in air, sea & land
- many different land/air mounts
- city building and housing system
- complete marriage system
- fashion clothes
- some instances
- seemless world (no zones except instances)
- similar to l2 enchanting system (but no need buy thousands of gold... you get items for enchanting from quest rewards...)
- several anti bot mechanisms
That's all I can think of now...
So in my eyes (I have already played the china as well as the cbt of malaysian english version) it takes L2 to a higher level, simply because it has nearly the same pvp system as L2 has (the biggest difference is that you are safe till level 30 - but the game has 105 levels), but it removes one of the biggest gripes of l2 player -> Bad economy, you get so many cool item just from fighting... -> then the grind... its much better in PW because you have easy grinding quests usually with nice rewards which give you lots of XP and items that really moves you forward..

Another thing I can add is they are very hard about BOTS in this game.
I was online yesterday and gm Banned 40 accounts and said in world chat :
- 40 Bots has been banned , thank you
I laughed tbh, haha "thank you " lol
Another thing I thought was fun is that if you got a girlfirend playing you can acually "carry" her around
and fly with her in your arms and also have her on you mount.
the Malaysian version is english international, the Philippines version had ip blocks from what i recall.

The Malaysian English version is the current International version of the game. This means that no IPs are blocked so anyone anywhere can play and enjoy this game.

This, for an f2p, is an awesome game. The best thing since Lineage 2. It's an L2 + Wow + more mix. L2 gameplay, but more than 5000 quests,...
I left the boring Vanguard and Lotros (left both at about level 18) and for the first time since Lineage 2 I have fun leveling my toon.
I wasn't very impressed in the beginning. But after the first 1 or 2 days I got used to the chinese art and now love it more and more. This game in open beta is more polished than many p2p games (Vanguard, any one?). The world is seamless without chunking, flight is so smooth, the water is amasingly done with coastal foam, underwater effects and population, etc...
Don't forget to set the gfx settings to max and to force antialiasing and anisotropic filtering on your gfx card.

PS: to add to one of the above posts, level cap in the countries where the game was released is 130. In this open beta it is currently still 105. The gameplay is very polished. there are however still many Englsih translation glitches, but nothing gamebreaking, its not a problem at all, especially as it is still open beta.
