Population?

abistarabistar Member UncommonPosts: 92

Hi guys, I am interested in playing this game, I was just wondering, how is the game population? I have gone on a few before this one without checking and they have had small population, especially in low lv people. thx  in advance.

My suggestion, if your concerned about population, would be to try it before Mod 6 goes live in Jan/Feb/Mar.

They are making some changes that will do nothing to bring in new people and just may drive some away.  As it stands now, population levels are kinda low, but it doesn't hamper game play to many times.

Honestly, you could pretty much play through many of the low levels without groups. It would give you enough time to talk to some people and figure out whats goin on. Try a trial if they still have one. It's not a grindfest in the traditional sense. It's pretty much all instances, or was when I played. (which was admittedly a long time ago.)

I just finished the free trial and honestly I was quite impressed with the populations. I had no issue finding a group to do the quests I wanted to do. The LFG tool works great in this game and people actually use it. I'd start a new grouip for a quest and within 5-10 minutes I'd have a full group. I believe there was a recent server merge down to 5 servers, which I would imagine helped greatly with any population issues.

The population is healthy, there are also plenty of lower levels characters, because majority of the level 14 community do have many alts.

    REALITY CHECK

There are PLENTY of people to play with on each server. Don't mind the negative comments about population. It's usually those people that don't want to PUG if theres not much available.

I play on Khyber and there are always a ton of groups looking for members. I'm also in one of the larger guilds on the server so we have a lot of people in our guild to run with at all times.

Theres a good crowd of people across the US as well as quite a few from Australia and Japan that are on during their daytime/our nighttime. You should never have a problem finding people to run with. I've had nights where I'll be on till 4 or 5 in the morning and there are almost always at least 3-4 groups looking for members in the list.

Heh, yeah, when I was playing mostly at 2am+, I'd group with a lot of Australians and New Zealanders and whatever else is on that timezone.

Warning: if you don't know the difference between a NZ and an Australian accent, try not to comment on the person's accent. :)

Agreed, I've never really had a problem with populations course I play on Khyber & Arggo which haven't really been low poulation servers anyways. And yes if you play late U.S. Time (I used to play mainly at 12am-5am pacific) then you will be grouping with mainly Kiwis & Aussies and I used to belong to a Singaporean(sp?) guild cause they were on that time frame a lot.

Yeah, there were so many people on that they need to merge the servers.

    Wait a minute......that doesn't make any sense!

Some people, for whatever reason, feel that any critisicm is some sort of wonky personal attack against the game.  The fact is that popualtion have been declining for a long time.  Thet seem fairly stable at the moment, but who knows what will happen this year.  (The new "improved" release schedule means people will be sitting 4-8 months (imo) between new content, and if last year is an indicator then the level cap coming in Mod 6 will be the only one for the year.  How long can we expect people to grind the same content over and over and over?)

Apparently you're the only person here who didn't understand the question.

Everyone else realizes the question was about now, not then.

LOL... no kidding. I was going to make a response, but you hit the nail right on the head.

Just for the record this game is miles better then LOTRO because on this you can use the auction use the mailbox and go almost anywere you want on a trial account all u ave for a disadvantage is limited playing time not a big disadvantage trial time is renewable.

Trial play time is like coal renewable energy renewable playing time it also helps you to explore the game when u play it the first time so the second time you can wiss through levels with no problem and keep doing that untill you reach a good point in gaming then you can either give up or continue to push yourself to the limit on the game and break the leveling code which alot of people still cant break.
