    It's Thief III: Deadly Shadows.

The original game was 'Thief: The Dark Project', followed by 'Thief II: The Metal Age'.

I finished Thief III, but I don't recall how I got into the clock tower. I seem to recall it being near the end of the game, but that's about it. I wasn't particularly impressed with it as a console port. Ragdoll effects were particularly laughable.

Only ever played the first part, but why don't you just check out some cheat sites, like gamefaqs.com. Pretty sure they got a walkthrough.

  • I played the game a year ago and can't remember, but I do think gamefaqs has a few pretty good guides.

Oh, and when you get to Shalebridge Cradle...well, you'll see, it's my favorite stage.

No, it's Thief - Deadly Shadows. There is no mention of it being the 3rd in a series. This was intentional, Eidos didn't want to hurt sales with those that hadn't payed the first two. (For all the good there machinations did them.)

As for the Clock tower, no clue, but there are lots of walkthroughs, try this place: Thief - The Circle

If I remember it correctly you have to have a pair of gloves that can be bought for around 200 gold at a merchant and then you can see some light against a wall, press "use" on them and then you should be inside.

Head for the courtyard where you first met that dude from the keepers and look up, there will be a keeper glyph up high with a set of pipes leading to it. Use the climbing gloves mentioned earlier to get to it, they're bought in a shop down in the docks (PS. 1K gold, not 200)

Really? I stand corrected, then. How lame of Eidos. But then, they *are* lame anymore. It was a very sad day when Looking Glass Studios closed their doors.

I don't think I've ever agreed with any forum post more. Sad indeed.

    So no Thief IV? :(

We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.

Not only no Thief IV, but Thief III (which it really was, despite the lame marketing guys at Eidos) was not made by Looking Glass Studios, either. They made Thief I and II. This is why Thief III is in many ways inferior to the first two.

But I will say this about Thief III: it did achieve closure story-wise. This is no small thing, and I'm glad that Eidos did it. As much as I've been bad-mouthing them, this part they got right. They also used the same voice actor for Garett, which was a VERY smart decision.

So no, there will be no Thief IV. OTOH, I wish that there were more First Person Stalkers out there like Thief. Splinter Cell is okay, but not as good as the first two Thief games. Oh well, I guess gaming has moved on past this niche genre. Too bad.

Oh god...its been two years since I played.

But I do have to say this....the Orphanage/Asylum mission was and still is, the scariest level of any PC game I have ever played
