Thinking About Picking This Up..

PopeLeoVIIPopeLeoVII Member UncommonPosts: 26

Well, I guess first of, I go way back with soe, started playing Ever Quest shortly after it was released, boy was that a great game..

Im really looking for a game to get into, Ive been of and on WoW for a while and havent played for about 3 months, dont think I could ever go back to that game.  Tried out FInal Fantasy XI again since I heard a lot of changes were made. Boy did that turn out to be a mistake, couldnt get past the horrid UI.  Next tried the Three Day pass for Tabula Rise, cool game but not my cup of tea.

I played Vanguard during the beta, and my computer could barely run it.  Right around september I built my beast of a new computer and guessing it will be able to run it flawlessly. I didnt enjoy beta much but that was mostly because My computer couldnt handle it.

Ive been reading up on it and seems like a lot of changes have been made.  Do you think it would be worth while to get into it? Seems theres a few high population servers right?

Any feed back would be great. Been an active member for a long time, just barely if ever post..

i myself started off EQOA/EQ and loved it, soon after got stuck in FFXI. i really got intrested in this game because of the great look, lots of classes, more goup style play (and things like boats and stuff seem neat). Now that im basicly over FFXI ive been looking or somthing thats kinda like EQ/FFXI in that they have the features i mentioned above. i got a pass a coupl emonths ago and found out that my PC (basicly my vid card) couldnt run this and it bummed me. now that i kno wim getting a new power supply (500watt) and a (pny 8600gt VC) im ready to try it again and actually play lol. if i get a pass before you start il surerly let you have it, just gotta wait til Xmas lol.

I would not recommend spending hours on end with this game. Try again in 6 months. Maybe more than 30 persons play it then.

I also started on Everquest after it was released.   Everquest has changed my life, in some ways for the better and in others, well, I just do not know. =p

I think you will appreciate Vanguard if you enjoyed the original Everquest as much as I did.  You will appreciate the world immersion in Vanguard; its beauty, diversity, openness, and danger.  I think you will also appreciate the various classes to select from, all are powerful in different ways similar to EQ 1.  Moreover, slower leveling and some consequence to death are in Vanguard, which I liked a lot from EQ 1 and enjoy more in Vanguard.

If your PC was your primary problem, you should be happy with what you find.

Oh, you troll... there's some good spamming right there!

Well, on a slightly more serious note, the game is definitely in much better shape compared to release. I reactivated my account only a couple of days ago and could immediately notice a significant boost in performance. I have not crashed a single time since reactivation and the hitching I had earlier is reduced significantly. At release I could never get passed the bad performance, but this time around I will explore VG to its fullest.

I'm playing on Seradon and there sure isn't any problem with population; there're plenty of people around. And Morgaur is right, there were approximately 30 people crafting/questing at the outpost I just logged out from.

    .............
    When in doubt, troll.

Umm yeah, i started Downloading yesterday at 1pm in the afternoon, it is currently 6:30 am with 8 more hours to go.

WHY IS THIS GAME CLIENT SO FRICKING HUGE STILL ???????

Anyhow i will not give up, i just hope its worth all the effort to get this game reinstalled.

Picked up the game, made the mistake of entering the buddy key into my station name, so I had to make a new account, oh well guess my friend will be using my main account..

Just going through the patching process, and hopefulyl game will be up and running by later tonight.
