Leveling in the 50's, any better?

EneboEnebo Member Posts: 10

I left EQ2 a few months ago due to the wall I hit in the 50's for quest / leveling.  I did all the quest in the Sinking Sands and was not quite high enough for the next area so instead of grinding the 1 Million boars I decided to cancel.

My question is has it got any better?  I heard from another EQ2 (former player) that they made some changes lately with more quests, etc..  I tend to solo for 80% of the time I have to play if that helps.

Thanks for any input.

I have not heard of any new quests for 50-60,  beyond maybe the Diety quests

What Kunark did do, with the LU40 patch was this

    eq2.wikia.com/wiki/LU40

Level 20-70 experience gain rate has been smoothed to be more beneficial,

and pre-70 quests now pay out more experience

    for me, PreKunark,

levels 50-60 was the worst part of EQ2 levelling

Lesser Fay is a great zone,

but theres not enough there to quest 10 levels

you are kinda forced to do alot of questing in Sinking Sands (my least favorite content)

on the bright side, once you get to upper 50s

you can shift gears and start hitting

Another thing i did to level a bit to help my guild as well is to do writs when yer in a leveling slump, or mentor down and help others and run missions you passed up along the way

There is no problem at all. In the 50ies you have to do jump between DoF and EoF. And back and forth. Late 50ies you can go to KoS, then Loping plains and back to KoS and back to Loping plains. Late 60ies then to RoK. You will hit 80 before you have done all quests in RoK.

Remember, there are also quests in shimmering citadel and Living tomb is noways very solo firiendly. If you have a group even everfrost and lavastrom has content up to 55. Everfrost has even a solo instance ;)

Its all there, you just need to know where :)

50-60 for me went very smoothe.  Easy writs, and lots of quests in pof.

I quit in the 50s for the same reason, but am tempted to come back... again.

As stated it's easy if you know how.

Early 50s, go to Pillar of Flames and Living Tombs in DoF and Lesser Faydark in EoF. Mid 50s you can start up in KoS in Teneborus Tangle (the basket quests from the froglok behind the pillars are an easy repeatable quest). Also check the npc's down the waterfall. With a decent group you can go to Sanctum of Scaleborn too. You can also start in EoF's Loping Plains during your mid 50s too, but it can be quite deadly.

The trick is keeping it varied. I actually found plenty of stuff to do just concentrating on Lesser Faydark and Loping Plains, and when I was bored moved to KoS or the high-end DoF stuff.

Currently returned to Norrath after disliking Hyboria.
