Sorry pal, I myself have bashed VG often for many things, but there are SO many changes happening in the last weeks, IF you ONLY hear XP bonus, there's something wrong with yer hearing.

Ok now, this is even weirder. I even got to log in Halgar (without getting any email) through the Station Launcher. And if I try to launch from Vanguard game launcher it starts patching and also says Halgar is not up! lol

Edit: Oh and guess we won't necessarily get an email. It can just open lol

Someone correct me if I am wrong. But I swear I saw a post created 12/12 stating that "Vanguard is fixed!" and now this thread? I thought it was fixed... or wasn't it?

  • U-TurnU-Turn Member UncommonPosts: 164

They should keep that XP rate as normal and maybe even add more.

Your point...? Are you implying that "fixed" in a broad sense equals no need for patching? Well, then we can all agree on that there are no mmorpg's what so ever that are "fixed", or ever will be.

The dynamic weather sure adds to the atmosphere. It's a great feature and enhances the immersion of VG even more. I'm a tad sceptical to snow in the desert though. I was standing south of Ahgram when dark clouds rolled in over the sky and it suddenly started to... snow! Surely rain had been more expected.

Just started playing Vanguard this week.  Had a coupon for BestBuy and the reduced pricing on Vanguard made it worth the try.

Although I have been only playing it for less than a week, it has ran very smooth so far.  I like the character creation.  I like the crafting and harvesting a lot.  The questing seems pretty decent.

The only area that I've felt a bit of a disappoinment was in the graphics.  I thought that this was supposed to be one of the best graphically inclined MMO's and IMHO it is alright but not great.

Other than that this is a pretty good MMO.  With the 50% XP bonus I guess I'll be able to check out more areas a little quicker.  Not sure what it was like when it was released, but it doesn't seem to be a "bad" game like I've seen in a lot of the threads.  Maybe they've tweaked it pretty good since the release?

Are your graphics setting pretty high? If they are on performance or balanced you won't see how detailed and gorgeous this game can really be.

I myself went from performance setting to balanced, with the fixes I can now do that,  and I see a very nice difference, enough to think about playing this game quite a bit. :D I imagine with the best graphics setting this game looks amazing.

Well that saved me the time of downloading it again.  More xp bonuses? Before long you;ll just have to kill one boar to reach max level.  That was the reason I left in the first place.  I can deal with bugs if the game is good, but not for everyone gets a trophy for showing up.

You must be kidding.  VG XP rate is horrid.  The 50% bonus is nothing.  Just say you don't want to play because that certainly is not a valid excuse.

  • ZulikaZulika Member UncommonPosts: 62

errr no.  Every quest I completed the gear obtained was worthless as I had already outleveled it.   Since SOE took over the changes make the game easier and easier - from my viewpoint.   I am used to and desire more of a challenge.  I solo alot so maybe it was due to my playstyle - who knows, but I heard and read the same from many MMO vets that I played with.

As I stated b4 - I could say  I did not want to play because I got tired of falling thru the world and dying or chugging at chunk lines or pick any one of a large nuymber of bugs we all know  that did (and still do) exist.  I can deal with all of those if there was a desire to play.   The vastness of the world with no instances rocked, but that has changed too from what I have been reading.

If you like it and you feel it is challenging enough - good for you enjoy :-)   Stick with your opinion and I;ll stick with my mine - we all have one.  Posting facts over and over here would make for boring reads eh?

The biggest plus of the patches is the over all improvement in the engine's response. It's not glassy smooth, but it's *very* good for what it was before. The XP rate boost is just for the holidays and to follow with their veteran's free time program that I've heard about. Anyways, I've bought Vanguard to see what the fuss (both ways) was about. It's a good game, I like being a goblin bloodmage and I never had such a challenge playing an MMO since I played a sorcerer (war magic) in AC1 many years ago.

  • ZulikaZulika Member UncommonPosts: 62

ah I played AC for years too.  Hard to understand why you cannot dodge anything by moving in a new game isn;t it?  LifeArcher from LC here.  I think about going back sometimes as the new games just do not compare.  Level to 275 and no End Game - woot! -but I quit b4 throne of destiny.

Anywho - the xp bonuses happen too much for my liking.

Speaking of improvements - the graphics rock on VG with a good card.  I had poor performance with some older cards in SLI, so I borrowed a dev card from my work and threw in the best cpu my mb could handle- man what a difference with everything maxed and a good framerate.  I have since bought even a better card and was wanting to see what it would run like now.

To be honest, the XP bonus is not very significant from what I've noticed. I've gotten to level 9 mostly from quest XP and not from grinding. I think I got from 7 to 8 from grinding, but only because I was exploring Fennox Caves, trying to figure out its layout (it's a damn trip to be sure).

It rather makes you look stupid now doesn't it. What would be the point with that. Those you are referring to will just filter you out so they won't read your posts. So what would then really be the purpose of posting at all. And those that don't care, those that don't get irritated. Well, those wasn't your target here. But they will be the one ending up reading your post.

So really, are you implying that a mmorpg won't need patching and updates?

I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

Outleveled? I think you need to read up on the changes on gear that went by a few months ago.

A gear that you can wear at lvl this or that is a middleroad they choosed when they switched from EE. Example, you can equip gear at lvl10 that is made for a few levels above. So no it is not worthless it is well fitted for the mobs that you encounter at a specific level.

Besides, you can look at the previous gear if the new one is a upgrade or not. Not only stearing blind on that the gear was equipable some levels below you.

You wouldn't know that. So you are only posting this to make your intent with the posting to look cool and funny.

You can think that you makes people irritated. and think that is a cool thing to do. But then I once again have to ask if you motives are that, why would one think all the rambling that the northguy did would not be a true conclusion. As why would you at one time think it would be cool to incite something but the next time you think you would be taken serious.

As I said if you are succesfull with this you only end up with being filtered out by those you want to incite. And only reaching those that doesn't care of these things. I would assume that you post on a forum to make what you think to be read by other people.

Somewhat based on you assumption that as I replied I must be irritated.
