Looking For a Game With good Ranger Classes

Hey guys, first post in MMO forums, but yeah here is the problem.  I love Ranger classes (scout, archer, assassin) you know the deal.  I am looking for a game with these, and preferably free, grapichs are semi important, i do enjoy 3D etc...

Umm, if there isnt a good free one let me know on the p2p versions.  And not tabula rasa please, already tried that, it wasnt for me.  Thanks for any help you can give me, im quite at a loss, but i really enjoy online games.  Take care!

    Hey hey why dont u try GW! it has a great ranger class and its not p2p all u have to do is pay 20 or 30 bucks for originial version and your set for fun with the ranger. (if u get factions theres an assassin too!)

    ill certainly take a gander into it, GW is largely instanced right? how is it for community, because i love that aspect of online games.

    Yes GW is very instanced based. every zone (besides hubs) is completely instanced that means no farmers with ya! yea!!!!! well the communtiy  is okish its been going downhill ever since heroes caome a long and if u do get it look for insane spoon and tell me u like my posts lol!

    You could try EQ2. I don't really play any scout classes, but from what I hear they are diverse and fun. Each one fulfills a certain role. It is pay to play, but the community is one of the best I've ever found in an MMO.

    Check out http://everquest2.station.sony.com/ and take a gander at the class list. The graphics can be pretty demanding though, so make sure your PC falls under the specs. I hope this helps :-)

    I've played them all and beleive it or not Vanguard has the best Ranger available. Why:

    Scrounging to make arrows

    Camoflauge (limited stealth ability)

    Good at Melee as well as ranged

    Can train pets but cannot keep them forever (more realistic imho)

    Can wear medium armor

     

    I'm not a fan of the game but the one thing they got right was the Ranger class.

    i agree, guild wars has a very good ranger class, plus you can multiclass if the game which adds a lot of diversity.

     

    guild wars in my opinion tho is barely a MMO, and quite frankly when i played it, there really wasn't a community, as much as just a bunch of people playing the game in the same place at the same time. much like warcraft, the chuck norris comments in hubs got VERY tiring, and really detracted from the entire feel of the game for me. BUT... it still remains one of the overall best looking multiplayer games i have played to day, presearing especially.

    Give DAOC a look, read the ranger forums and you will be impressed I'm sure.  I played healer there for 3 years then tried the ranger, wow what fun.  Stealthing in towers was my personal favorite, but you get it all there, even to making your own arrows if you choose.  Have to like detail though, it's not for the instant gratification type.  Good hunting :)
