I need some help.
ok, I had been playing WoW. reached the cap.. found out the game was mind numbingly boring after that, and there is so little content its not even funny. I /uinstalled yesterday.
Ok, so during this time. I went back to FFXI... a game I loved for 2 long years. Problem? Yeah.. you have to have a group to do pretty much everything. I just hate spending a third of my game time sitting and doing nothing. I like the game still, but not sure if I can deal with that all over again.
So, recently I just tried EQ2.... I had refrained from doing so previously because of talk on forums and because of my pc not being able to handle it. Well.. despite what people said about it. I tried it. I actually like it.. and I like it alot. So I've been playing it.
Ok, so It got me thinking. You can get this station pass thing for 29.99 that allows me to play EQ2, EQ1, SWG, Vanguard, Matrix Online, Planetside, and Pirates of the Burning Sea for that one monthly fee. I pay almost that much for just EQ2 and FFXI. I've wanted to try SWG for a long time, and I've been wanting to see what Vanguard is about. I recently tried the EQ1 trial and I kinda like it as well.
However I still have a soft spot for FFXI...
which would you do?
A. keep FFXI and pay 30 bucks a month for 2 games.
B. Drop FFXI and get station pass and get 7 games for the price of 2.

station pass does offer a nice benefit, but in order to actually make it worth it you'd need to consider whether or not you'd actually be a subscriber to three of SOE's games, which i don't know about you, but between working full time, and life in general, having an active subscription to one game is about all i can really handle.
the other reason i'm not a fan of it is i feel it fragments the SOE community. where as instead of being devoted to a character/guild/community one one game, you spread yourself a little too think and don't really have a part in the community of a game, but just become a player.

well I see your point.
but at the same time.. a person who gets burned out on one game.. will probably quit unless he has some other reason to take a break and put his time elsewhere until he is no longer burned out. If i get bored of EQ2 I can jump over to SWG until I am ready to play EQ2 again. It would be the same as getting burned out and not playing at all.. but with a much higher chance that I will return to said game.
at least thats how i see it.

I say drop FFXI. You can always resub later if you're really desperate to play. There's nothing like expanding your horizons
