I just got the trial key from this site... But I already have the opinion that this game is another mindless kill/loot game like the rest. Just from viewing a few clips from youtube I can clearly see that. Kill, loot, get better stuff, move to stronger mob, rinse/repeat.... I am honestly getting sick and tired of this charade.

Anyone remember the overhyping of the fanppl and the extreme complaints in the 1st month of lotro? I actually tried to get into a trial a week ago for it but the launcher continued to give me run dll C++ errors, and so decided i didn't want to see the game after that...

Don't know... i will see with this trial, but currently sticking with eve online as a secondary game while going through console games.

Company really need to think of a new scene for mmorpg cause I see less subscribers with every "new" mmorpg that comes out and uses the same mind degenerate gameplay.

This game is not 'crap' in my opinion.

First off, I downloaded the trial couple days ago and so far the game is okay.  If anything I would say average or just okay.  I would not say crap as the game has decent graphics, nice sound, for me decent frames per second and fairly smooth performance.  Also, the idea of logos and having to collect them to unlock certain skills is pretty cool.  Another cool aspect is the weapons and gear.  So far I like how the weapons and armor/gear look, sound, etc.  There is also a fair amount of customization of your character by increasing the base stats, which you get to do every time I have leveled so far.

I was disappointed by the number of hairstyles for female avatars.  Also, females had tons of face choices but only a couple did I like.  There was an annoying bug where you kill an enemy and it doesn't fall down so you keep shooting it thinking it is alive.  I have seen this before in other mmo's though.  I'm sure they will work it out.  Another thing is they probably need to decrease the number of instanced areas in the game.  For instance, if the server is low pop, you don't need 5 instances of that zone.  Maybe one or two, that way you see more peeps running around and it makes the game feel more alive and fosters a sense of community.

Also, the game is going with a different core mechanic with the quasi fps style and I give them props for that.  Nice to see a team take risks and I think in general it pays off (atleast that's my experience so far).

But in general, I'd say an okay game with possibly huge potential IF the devs work hard and add in some stuff.  But most mmo's are like this at launch.   Good with lots of potential.  So we will see what Tabula Rasa's dev team do with that potential.  In closing, I think I'll probably buy the game and play the free month to get a better feel for the game before coming to a final conclusion.

I agree with Zorvan, as usual I think. Good read.

This part of your post just simply isnt true. Im sorry but its not. WoW may not have had content that you enjoyed but there was a ton of it to be had. Never thought I would be defending WoW.

Also when it comes to subject of bugs - yes it has bugs, this is obvious. Even WoW after 3 years still has bugs and is unbalanced and people whine on the forums how warlock is overpowered (so sad). Response of the Blizzard developers is that they look after the problems, bla bla bla, warlock should be powerful anyway, bla bla bla.

I dont think anyone will argue with you that all games have bugs. Class balancing is not a bug however.

Here you can see two-week update results: eu.rgtr.com/en/news_article/feedback_friday_21st_december_2007
The response and work from TR Staff is just great, they answer people calls about ingame issues and unbalancing, also they fix problems as soon as possible - you don't need to wait 4-6 months for another update like in WoW, just see 857 bugs resolved in TWO WEEKS, how do you beat that? Also they don't need to hide known issues from the public, they do not lie like blizzard that whatever happens is not their fault. There was a problem with durability of items already when update did not went correctly. The fix was ready after few hours and all credits lost in this matter were back in backpack! No one tried to hide anything, they informed the community about is as soon as possible - professional isn't it?

The flip side of fixing 857 bugs is that there were 857 bugs that needed to be fixed after the game went live. You also comment on how they fixed an update that didnt work and then informed the community. Dont you think that most of the community noticed anyways? I dont know how many kudos they get for that one.

Just remember the issues from the launch of LOTRO, half of people could not log in and staff on website clearly stated that all is ok and login problems are not their fault, they simply had no balls to write that they didn't expect so many people and they servers have too low performance.
And this is what matters, how fast they fix bugs and develop new content and I must say that TR is really ahead before other developers.
You can see lots of negative comments here, because whole community is so busy playing that don't have time for posting (I feel like I'm wasting my time here too, but false opinions on this forum made me to post here). Anyway, what can I say. TR has the best score on this website, so it just shows that people posting so bad comments about this game are really unsignificant... simply whiners.
This is a forum where people express their opinions about games. Would you rather just have the whole world agree with your biased opinion? Would it make you feel better? If you enjoy the game thats great. You say everyone that posts bad comments on this forum are insignificant so really what is the problem? You are just another person whining about whiners that you feel are insignificant. That in and of itself is rather odd.

This MMO in one year will be outstanding, it has a solid base for it... so instead of reading shitposts like all here (including mine), taking in account that everyone has different preferences, just save your time and check out trial to get the information from the first hand.
I will go out on a limb here and say that most of these insignificant haters have tried the game and did not like it. So they post about it. Same as the people that like it. What you really want is for everyone who does not like it to not post about it.You need to learn to live with the fact that this is a pretty harsh site and people speak their minds.

I will stay in this game for long, and I mean long.
This makes me very happy in the pants to know this. I wish you well.

This just proves how primitive you're both are. If you cannot argue like mature man, you just go for a harsh words and trying to simply show yourself better, because lack of good arguments. You should better go to sexual self-esteem therapy forums instead this one. Behaving this way, shows just that you don't want to search objective truth. You just want to show yourself having right over another person - and that's it. And this just leads to conclusion that your opinions don't want to help other people at all and therefore discussing with you is waste of time (like talking with rocks). I don't really care if you flame me or make fun of me, because I feel good either way, because I know flaming is just unmature animal-like behaviour and means nothing. I wish you both finding this by yourself and be more helpful and wishful for others. So I just don't flame you here like you do, but wish you all the best in future.

I never didn't attack any of you. This post was dedicated to people that post "TR is crap, nothing can beat WoW" and thats it. If you don't do this, why do you try to defend yourselves and make fun of me? This shows that the problem is on your side.

I never stated that TR is better than WoW or LOTRO, I used word DIFFERENT, only that has better support/developers and more content than these games when released. I have played both WoW and LOTRO and it was really fun, I still even have active WoW subscription and log in, when my friends give me a sign and have fun playing.

My favorite MMO is Lineage 2, I have spend over 2 years playing it, I didn't want to mention it to stay objective, but anyway some people having no better argument called me fanboi. Let them be ;-)

Yes, I defended TR, because I feel sorry that fresh people that want to try out the game, come here, read comments like "THIZ IZ SHIT!!1 DON'T DOWNLOAD OR U SUX", and go away even didn't trying one.

As for 857 bugs corrected, if you GreenHell don't know that unprofessional company never say that they have mistaken (yes, this may sound new to you, because you don't look like a person that admits you can be ever mistaken). Say what bank would you trust: the one that says that everything is ok and under control, no matter to being afraid and you see 0 on your account or the one that say, that they had some serious problems, but everything is all right and will be reverted from database backup before you even noticed that problems exists (Yes in TR they put it on the page as soon as it was detected.)

Nevermind, if this post doesn't clarify for you, what is it all about then nothing will, I will not post here anymore. Seems I did a mistake making this thread, because instead of trying encourage people to try it out instead of reading crap, I just became food for forum trolls.

Anyway just look at the both posts of DAS1337, the non-objective first one and the second that gives potential player some usefull informations like ie: not the something sux, but something is schematic and fixed and gives unrealistic feelings.

I wouldn't let it get to you, man. While I don't think TR is the game to end all games, it certainly isn't a bad game. In a weird and slightly retarded way, the trolls help to create hype around the game. If it was really as terrible as they like to pretend, no one would bother posting here. The ratings would be low, people would simply try the free trial, and that would be it. Who really cares what someone thinks about the game when there's a free trial?

It is obnoxious if you actually want to find information about things within the game or to organize clans/events or just talk to other people without all the negativity. Having to skim through threads filled with the same idiotic bs gets tiresome. Then again I suppose this website isn't exactly known for the high quality of its average forum post. Fortunately, some of the other websites are much better in this regard. Still an official forum would be really nice.

Dont worry LemmyPL, I will stick around.

And a Very Merry Christmas to you Zorvan? Question. Why do you hang around the TR forums anyways? Just curious as well.

    On another note..

I noticed you flamed a troll on the AO Forum sight and told him to take a hike. haha

    good stuff..

I don't hang around the TR forums. I don't hang around any particular forum, to be honest. Looking at this thread after seeing it in the "recent" category, I responded in regard to the person who made the thread, and the nature of the thread itself, not because it was a TR thread. Already explained this in my last response to you.

If you mean Tastee, he's the resident ingame troll as well. And my "flaming" of him is good natured, as is his trolling for the most part, although it may not appear to be so.

    good stuff..

      Merry Christmas.

And now I'll leave this thread alone, as I pretty much already made my points and any further would not serve any good cause.

And to anyone who wishes to try TR, by all means do so. Although many of us have bad views/opinions of the game, you may not share those views after trying it. to each their own, as they say. And there is no real shame in being a fan of and liking a game that others don't. The shame belongs to those who try to cram their viewpoint down others throats until they agree with them, such as the OP in this thread.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone, TR players and haters alike.
