The Witcher - Technical Question?

I recently got this exelent game, but i am having a graphical problem. Now what it is that some of the polygons that make up some of the game models get stretched out some of which obscure my view at some viewing angles.

Now i susect its something to do with my ggraphics card so i downloaded the latest driveer patch for it and i found that most of this was fixed but i still get it. Anyone got any advice?

I have a Nvida 7900 series graphix card.

4 gig ram

Microsoft XP Home Edition SP2

    •  Install or (UPDATE) to the latest DX9
    •  Install the VC Redist Runtime

Google both installers. Should fix any GFX bug you have.

You may want to go update your Nvidia card.....I know they just had a driver update for all cards just a few days ago.  You should be able to go directly to the Nvidia's webpage or just google it to get the latest download, it only takes a few minutes.

Oops sorry, I just reread your post and you did update your Nvidia cards.

What do you mean where do you put it? You install it. If it extracts files, locate the folder and run the executable that is compatible with your PC and OS. For instance you might have to look for the WinXP Pro 32bit runtime in the extracted folder. Just follow the installation of the redistribution package and restart your PC when you have confirmed both DX9 latest and VC Redist are completely configured.

Vcredist.exe is a self-extracting executable file that installs the latest version of the Microsoft Visual C++ run-time files and operating system components that are required by most projects created with Visual C++ 6.0. These files include fixes that are included with Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4).

Beginning with Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 5, Vcredist.exe is included with the service pack. The Vcredist.exe pointed to by this article will continue to be the Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 4 version. To obtain the latest version of Vcredist.exe, you will need to get a copy of the latest service pack. For details, see the following Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Web site:

To obtain the Vcredist.exe update, download and run the following application, which installs Vcredist.exe to the directory that you specify.

The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:

    DownloadDownload the VC6RedistSetup_enu.exe package now.

I wont even be considering Vista until service pack 1, if ever.

Get XP Pro, Home can be buggy.

You've got better hardware than me and you're still having graphical trouble with The Witcher? I'm on a smithfield 2.8ghz dual core PC with 3gb of ram and a geforce6800 from over a year or two ago. It runs The Witcher fine, along with everything that's been released this year. CoD4, Crysis, Bioshock etc... Obviously the GFX aren't on max, but who cares, to me it's all about gameplay. Unfortunately few developers realize that truth and instead invest too much time, energy and money into GFX. Don't get me wrong, you need to enjoy the visuals, but they need to get their priorities straight.

Get DirectX9 November from Microsoft Direct DL Link (Right Click --> Save As)

If you're still having trouble I would try uninstalling the GFX card in your Hardware settings and then reinstall from the top. Put your original driver CD in the drive when it asks for your driver location.

My biggest problem with The Witcher is the click-fest of the attacks. The adult content is hardly even adult, it just shows some moaning and a blur on the bed of Geralt and whoever is being nailed. The tarot cards show at most half a nipple. It should be rated for age 14 and up. You hear more cuss words and bullshit in school than you do in the Witcher. America needs to get with the times in regards to sexuality anxiety. Europe and the rest of the world beat American hands down in sexual maturity.

If you're still having trouble with the game's GFX I could do some remote administration and fix it for you if necessary.

Did you buy the USA version or the UK version?
