looking for a f2p pve mmo

hey, after 3 good years of playing anarchy online (of which 2 years paid) im looking for a free mmo thats primarily PvE/PvM. some other prefs are:

- i prefer a sci-fi mmo, but im interested in trying any theme out

- doesnt matter whether crafting is important (as long as others can do it, i dont want to do everything myself), or what the population is like..

- i prefer at least some professions that use "magic" or nanos like in AO

- i dont dislike grinding, but i dont want very heavy grinding

- (newb) friendly community

- i want a challenging mmo that takes some time to learn, similar to AO.. nothing too hardcore tho

- im not really familiar with "sandbox" games, or whats so special about them, if someone can explain plz do

- id like a game with quite a few professions/races

- like i said, population doesnt matter to me.. cause i want to solo a lot, i dont dislike grouping but i like to lvl up alone most of the time so i dont have to wait for groups

- id rather kill mobs then do quests only, but some quests dont hurt

- i dont want to spend countless hours in raidbots to get (endgame) gear

- i dislike roleplaying, every game has roleplayers but as long as the roleplay communities are not too big im ok :P

- max lvl must be hard to get to (it must take a while, like in ao where u have 220 levels and 30 ai lvls and 70 research lvls, which is pretty sick... i managed to get a 220 toon but i never reached alien lvl 30 or all the research lvls, but at least that kept me playing my main)

- NO beta games like perfect world plz

well i guess that sums it up.. mayb there isnt even an mmo out that meets these criteria, but ill try everything that comes sort of close to it. theres so many free mmos i dont have a clue what to try

AO fits your description perfectly.. Yet you used it as a reference?...

EDIT: Oops, misread. I'm not sure, try Tabula Rasa maybe?

 

EDIT Again: Man I'm messed up today, Tabula isn't F2P, so I'm not sure.

yep. i already played AO, but i got tired of it... ive seen tabula rasa at a friend but i dont feel like paying at the mo for a mmo, im a student so my financial situation aint really... ill say stable

many people recommend RF Online and Hero Online seems nice too, any thought on those?

edit: hmm i think i wont try hero online since theres only 4 professions in the game, i spotted Shadowbane thats totally free, no item shop or paid expansions.. would be nice if i wanted to try some pvp

edit2: ill skip the shadowbane option since its a diehard pvp mmo.. think ill just try some mmos out then
