Got bored one night and got CoH, wow what a great MMO.
So my Fire/EM Blaster is level 5 now and I have a bunch of random questions.
1) It possible to get the highest jump + the fastest run speed on a single character?
2) Does Paragon City have day and night?
3) Does Origin matter other than missions and that useless close-range attack you get?
4) How do you get a Trenchcoat?
5) Am I understanding correctly that Reputation is the game currency?
6) Is it useful to join a supergroup?
7) Do people group or just solo everything?
8) Can Fire/EM Blasters still solo at 50?
So far I am loving this game. Tons of fun.
Peace

5) influance is the currency
6) i cant really say, i have yet to find a good one
7) its about even if you ask me, i solo more just b/c thats my play style
8) yes
answers for ya.
1. You can take Super Speed and Super Jump on the same character. But, it will not make you move faster while mid-jump.
2. Yeah it does have day and night. I believe it changes every 45 mintues or so, not positive about the exact time, but it is fairly short.
3. Origin decides what dual-origin or single origin enhancements you can use.
4. Trenchcoat is the three month vet reward. Just stay with the game 3 months and you get it.
5. Reputation is the difficulty setting, the money is called Influence. In CoV its Infamy.
6. Sometimes yes, just make sure you join a good super group. Good being one that is active and shares your veiws of the game.
7. Teaming seems to be the main way to go. While teamed you get more xp and will make more freinds, maybe even find a good super group.
8. yeah, any AT can solo in the game, if built right and you take your time to learn the ins and outs of the powersets.
6. I would say yes. at the Supergroup base you can heve teleporters to almost all the game zones. One of the veteran rewards is a Teleport to SG base option. It makes getting around easier. There are also storage devices for base salvage, Inspirations, and enhancements.
Glad your enjoying the game.
1- Yes, but while you jump the run speed doesn't help you at all. Most PvP players use both of these.
2- Yes, and some monsters spawn only at night.
3- I always pick the same origin and never suffer from it in anyway.
4- 3 month veterans reward. The only veteran reward which is annoying to not have on a powerplayer basic is the 1 year veteran reward which grants you an extra attack. This attack is outstanding at level 1. It is decent at level 15. It is cute and merely situational at 32+.
7- Most peoples groups, but there are many soloers and they seem extremely happy with the game. You can earn everything you need as a level 50 uber toon by soloing, except a second rate enhancement which would require you to either group or buy at the auction house. This second rate enhancement is still usefull for the powers you didn't slots or if you need raw % to finish a few powers, so you could use about 5-10 of them on a maxed character.
8- Some peoples will say they are the best soloers in the game. Blasters are the best damage dealer...and fire is definitely a LOT of damage. They are squishies...but when everything die fast and at range, did you need to be anyless squishie? Scrappers are the best rounded characters for solo on hero side, but blasters are definitely at least the 2nd best...and blasters solo better then any character in any other MMO as far as I know (didn't play them all, but I play most of them).
